What to do with passport

The process for applying for a personal overseas travel passport is as follows:

1. Present your ID card, household register or other household registration certificate to the Exit and Entry Administration Department of the Public Security Bureau of the city or county where your household registration is located to obtain it. 2 copies of the "Approval Form for Application for Chinese Citizens to Go Abroad".

2. Fill in the "Approval Form for Chinese Citizens to Go Abroad" in detail and submit the political review opinions of the unit or police station.

3. Submit the applicant’s ID card, household register or other household registration certificate for inspection, and submit a photocopy.

4. Submit 4 recent, full-face, color ID ID photos (glossy photo paper) of the applicant. National public officials do not wear standard clothing, children do not wear red scarves, and only one person can be photographed.

The background color of the photo should be white or light sky blue, the portrait should be clear, rich in layers, and the expression should be natural. The photo size should be two inches small, 32mm×40mm, head width: 21-24mm, head length: 28 -33mm. One-time imaging snapshots, reproduced photos, or photos printed with various color printers will not be accepted.

5. Submit proof of foreign exchange expenses required for travel, such as the applicant’s bank deposit certificate, etc.

6. If the materials are complete and the procedures are complete and approved, the applicant will collect the passport from the exit and entry management department of the county or city public security bureau where the household registration is located in 15 to 20 working days, and pay the Lingshen passport document fee. If there is a replenishment, a replenishment fee must be paid for each time.

Notes on applying for a passport and travel permit

1. The embassies and consulates of the People’s Republic of China and other countries abroad accept applications for passports and travel permits from Chinese citizens according to consular districts. Handle passport apostille and other procedures.

2. Under normal circumstances, Chinese citizens should apply for a passport from the Chinese embassy or consulate in their place of habitual residence.

3. The applicant must go to the embassy or consulate in person to apply for relevant procedures.

4. When a minor applies for a passport, he and his parents (at least one parent) must be present in person.

5. Applicants should prepare relevant materials according to the requirements of the embassy and consulate and be responsible for the materials they provide. Consular officials may refuse to accept applications where the documents are incomplete, false documents are presented, false information is provided, or other circumstances do not meet the conditions. Those who obtain certificates by fraud will have their certificates revoked in accordance with the law until legal liability is investigated.
