Hubei abbreviation, opera name and tourist attractions
Hubei is abbreviated as "E". It is named after the change of Yingzhou into the seat of Ezhou in the ninth year of Emperor Kaihuang's reign in the Sui Dynasty. Earlier, it was because in the Spring and Autumn Period, King Xiong Qu of Chu sealed Zhongzi Hong in what is now Hubei. The "E City" on the shores of Liangzi Lake (the ruins of E King City in present-day Daye, which is one of the fifth batch of national key cultural relics protection units) is well known. As for the origin of "E", it is because the present-day Xiangning County of Shanxi Province adjacent to the Fen River was built in the Shang Dynasty. There was the "Ehou State" whose business was crocodile hunting. It was annexed during the reign of King Zhou Cheng, and the E State was forced to move south and finally settled in "Echeng" (historically known as "Eastern E") on the shores of Liangzi Lake in Hubei today.
Hubei has 22 local opera types, among which the most influential ones are Han Opera, Chu Opera and Jinghe Flower Drum Opera. Wuhan, the provincial capital, is dominated by Han opera, Chu opera, Peking opera and drama; Jianghan Plain is dominated by Huagu opera; Xiaogan is dominated by Chu opera; Huanggang is dominated by Huangmei opera; Xianning is dominated by tea-picking opera; Xiangfan, Shiyan and other northwest Hubei regions are dominated by Henan opera Mainly; Enshi mainly focuses on Southern Opera and Lantern Opera; Yichang area mainly focuses on Peking Opera and ethnic songs and dances.

In order to cure people's diseases, the ancestor of China, Emperor Yan Shennong, traveled through mountains and rivers to Shennongjia, where he climbed up and collected herbs by "building a tree as a ladder"; he "built a tree as a house" to benefit living beings, and moved the Emperor Shennong to "build a tree as an altar" and ascended to the heaven of immortals, hence his name. Shennongjia. To this day, Shennongjia still retains place names related to Shennong's taste of Baicao, such as "Baicaoyuan", "Baicaochong", "Baicaoping" and "Baicaoya". It is the most primitive 5A-level scenic spot for the protection of original flora and fauna. It was included in the World Natural Heritage List at the 40th World Heritage Conference held in Istanbul, Turkey on July 17, 2016.
