Introduction to Wanling Town

Wanling Town is located in the east of Rongchang District. The town street is 8 kilometers away from the urban area and covers an area of ??24 square kilometers. The southwest faces the meandering Laixi River, and the northeast faces rolling hills and mountains. The market is built on top of the mountain and is known as a "small mountain city". In 2010, it was awarded the honorary title of the fifth batch of "China's Historical and Cultural Towns" by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and the State Administration of Cultural Heritage. Wanling Town was formerly known as Lukong Town. With the rapid development of the Wanling Mountain Tourist Scenic Area within the territory, in particular, the large-scale CCTV film and television drama "Filling in Sichuan" with Wanling Town as the place where the story takes place was successfully filmed here. Wanling Town's reputation quickly expanded. At the same time, in order to further promote my country's history and culture and promote the tourism industry and economic development of the ancient town, it was officially renamed Wanling Town with the approval of the Chongqing Municipal People's Government on September 24, 2013. In December 2014, Wanling Ancient Town Scenic Area in Rongchang District, Chongqing was officially approved by the National Tourism Administration as a national AAAA (4A) level scenic spot.
