Introduction to China's History, Culture and Tourism

The World Historical and Cultural Heritage is an evaluation project established by the United Nations in 1972 to protect the world's precious cultural and natural heritage.

The evaluation of world historical and cultural heritage needs a series of conditions, and it has to go through strict examination and approval procedures.

Finally, the World Heritage Center will make the final judgment.

World historical and cultural heritage can be divided into three categories: cultural heritage, natural heritage and dual heritage of nature and culture.

China has been selected as a world cultural heritage:

1. There are 21 cultural heritage sites:

1. The Ming and Qing palaces (the Forbidden City in Beijing and the Forbidden City in Shenyang)

were awarded the World Historical and Cultural Heritage by UNESCO in 1987.

2. The Summer Palace (Beijing)

In 1998, it was awarded the World Historical and Cultural Heritage by UNESCO.

3. The Great Wall (Beijing)

In 1987, it was awarded the World Historical and Cultural Heritage by UNESCO.

4. The Temple of Heaven (Beijing)

In 1998, it was awarded the World Historical and Cultural Heritage by UNESCO.

5. chengde mountain resort (Chengde, Hebei, including the surrounding temples)

was awarded the World Historical and Cultural Heritage by UNESCO in 1994.

6. Pingyao Ancient City (Pingyao, Shanxi)

In 1997, it was awarded the World Historical and Cultural Heritage by UNESCO.

7. Zhoukoudian Peking Man Site (Zhoukoudian, Beijing)

In 1987, it was awarded the World Historical and Cultural Heritage by UNESCO.

8. Old Town of Lijiang (Lijiang, Yunnan)

In 1997, it was awarded the World Historical and Cultural Heritage by UNESCO.

9. Suzhou Classical Garden (Suzhou, Jiangsu)

In 1997, it was awarded the World Historical and Cultural Heritage by UNESCO.

1. Qin Shihuang Mausoleum and Terracotta Warriors Pit (Xi 'an, Shaanxi)

In 1987, it was awarded the World Historical and Cultural Heritage by UNESCO.

11. Dazu Stone Carving (Dazu County, Chongqing)

In 1999, it was awarded the World Historical and Cultural Heritage by UNESCO.

12. Wudang Mountain Ancient Building (Danjiang City, Hubei Province)

In 1994, it was awarded the World Historical and Cultural Heritage by UNESCO.

13. The Mogao Grottoes (Shaming Mountain, Dunhuang City, Gansu Province)

In 1987, it was awarded the World Historical and Cultural Heritage by UNESCO.

14. Potala Palace (* * * * *)

In 1994, it was awarded the World Historical and Cultural Heritage by UNESCO.

15. Longmen Grottoes (Luoyang City, Henan Province)

In November 2, it was awarded the World Historical and Cultural Heritage by UNESCO.

16. Confucius Temple, Confucius Forest and Confucius House (Qufu, Shandong Province)

In 1994, it was awarded the World Historical and Cultural Heritage by UNESCO.

17. imperial tombs of the ming and qing dynasties (the Ming Tombs, the Qing Tombs, the Qing Tombs, the ming tomb Tombs and the Shengjing Tombs) was awarded the World Historical and Cultural Heritage by UNESCO in 2.

On July 1, 24, it was awarded the World Historical and Cultural Heritage by UNESCO.

2. World natural heritage, ***4 places:

1. Jiuzhaigou (Nanping County, Sichuan Province)

was awarded the World Historical and Cultural Heritage by UNESCO in 1992.

2. Huanglong (Songpan County, Sichuan Province)

In 1992, it was awarded the World Historical and Cultural Heritage by UNESCO.

3. Wulingyuan (Wuling, Hunan)

In 1992, it was awarded the World Historical and Cultural Heritage by UNESCO.

4. Parallel Rivers (Yunnan)

On July 2, 23, it was awarded the World Historical and Cultural Heritage by UNESCO.

"Three Parallel Rivers" refers to the spectacular sight formed by the confluence of Jinsha River, Lancang River and Nujiang River.

III. World Cultural and Natural Heritage, ***4 places:

1. Mount Tai (Taian, Shandong Province)

In 1987, it was awarded the World Historical and Cultural Heritage by UNESCO.

2. Huangshan Mountain (Hubei Province)

In 1992, it was awarded the World Historical and Cultural Heritage by UNESCO.

3. Emei Mountain-Leshan Giant Buddha (Emei Mountain, Sichuan)

In 1997, it was awarded the World Historical and Cultural Heritage by UNESCO.

4. Wuyishan (Fujian)

In 1992, it was awarded the World Historical and Cultural Heritage by UNESCO.

iv. Cultural landscape ***1:

1. Lushan Mountain (Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province)

In 1996, it was awarded the World Historical and Cultural Heritage by UNESCO.

V. Masterpieces of oral and intangible heritage of mankind ***2 places:

1. Kunqu Opera (Kunshan, Jiangsu)

was awarded the World Historical and Cultural Heritage by UNESCO in 21.

Kunqu Opera was produced in Kunshan, Jiangsu Province at the end of Yuan Dynasty and the beginning of Ming Dynasty, with a history of more than 6 years.

2. Guqin

was awarded the World Historical and Cultural Heritage by UNESCO on November 7th, 23.
