Brief introduction of Xituo ancient town

Xituo Ancient Town 1 is located in Shizhu Tujia Autonomous County, Chongqing, formerly known as Jiexituo, and was called "the western boundary of Bazhou" in ancient times. It is named after Huishuituo, which is adjacent to the south bank of the Yangtze River, and faces Shi Baozhai, the pearl of the Yangtze River, across the river. Xituo belongs to Shizhu County and has the reputation of "one foot in three counties". Xituo has a long history and culture as early as the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. Here is "land and water trade, fireworks flourish, just like a swamp city". Since ancient times, it has been an important deep-water port in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, and now it has become an important tourist gateway of Huangshui National Forest Park. 1992 is listed as a provincial historical and cultural town in Sichuan province. In 2002, it was listed as a traditional town for the relocation and protection of the Three Gorges reservoir area at the municipal level.
