The Development Course of China Association for the Promotion of International Non-governmental Organization Cooperation

China Association for the Promotion of Democracy was established as an international NGO liaison office of China International Economic and Technological Exchange Center (hereinafter referred to as the Exchange Center). 1987 with the approval of the State Council, the exchange center became the coordinating body of international NGOs in China.

The China Association for the Promotion of Democracy has maintained good cooperative relations with international NGOs and multilateral and bilateral institutions engaged in development and economic and technological exchanges since it started cooperation with international NGOs. From 1986 to the signing of the first cooperation agreement between China and international non-governmental organizations with European aid groups (German Agricultural Action, Oxfam Great Britain and Dutch International Development Cooperation Organization) to the end of February 2004, the China Association for the Promotion of People has established cooperative relations with more than 150 foreign non-governmental organizations and international multilateral and bilateral institutions. Among them,166 overseas NGOs and international multi-bilateral institutions in 9 countries or regions provided China with 290 million yuan of financial assistance, and raised 2 1 10,000 yuan of project matching funds from domestic parties. The project covers 78 poverty-stricken counties in 30 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions, and 275 projects are arranged. The project arrangement focuses on the famous Yimeng Mountain area, Dabie Mountain area, northern Sichuan area, old northern Shaanxi area, Mount Everest national nature reserve and many ethnic minority areas in China. The implementation of the above-mentioned projects has made positive contributions to the economic development and social progress in poverty-stricken areas in China, as well as the improvement of people's living standards and poverty alleviation work in old areas.

The China Association for the Promotion of People has a full member of 1 15 in China, and has carried out extensive cooperation and exchanges with governments, universities, research departments and non-governmental organizations at all levels in China. The projects that China Association for Promoting Democracy cooperates with international NGOs and international organizations mainly involve agricultural production and basic living needs (drinking water for people and livestock, etc.). ), income-generating activities (aquatic products, handicrafts and animal husbandry), comprehensive community development, health care, poverty alleviation, environmental resources protection, basic and vocational education, institutional capacity building, practical technical training, emergency rescue and post-disaster reconstruction, women's participation in development projects (technical training and improvement of women's status) and cooperation with developing countries.
