It's easy to apply for a passport now. According to the relevant provisions of the Passport Law of the People's Republic of China and referring to the technical standards of ICAO, the Ministry of Public Security decided to issue electronic ordinary passports nationwide on May 12, so you don't need to apply for a traditional paper passport now. It is very convenient to apply for an electronic passport now. You only need to provide relevant information to the exit-entry administration department of the public security organ of the local people's government at the county level where you live.

B. Advantages of e-passport

Electronic passport (E-passport) is a new passport with an electronic chip embedded in the traditional passport, and the basic personal information of the holder is stored in the chip. Compared with previous passports, the electronic ordinary passport has three advantages:

First, the anti-counterfeiting ability of ordinary passports in China has been improved. The electronic ordinary passport adopts a high-security smart card chip that meets the relevant standards of ICAO, and uses asymmetric cryptography technology with high security strength to protect the data of the chip, thus ensuring the digital anti-counterfeiting performance of the electronic ordinary passport. In terms of physical anti-counterfeiting, the electronic ordinary passport adopts many anti-counterfeiting technologies, such as special-shaped color separation, glossy ink, laser drilling, high-resolution holography and so on, which improves the physical anti-counterfeiting level of the electronic ordinary passport. Through the above measures, it can effectively prevent the occurrence of forged or altered passports and protect the legitimate rights and interests of holders.

The second is to improve the credibility of China's ordinary passports. With the great improvement of the anti-counterfeiting ability of the electronic ordinary passport, countries have increased their trust in the electronic ordinary passport of China. In terms of port inspection, it will be more convenient for people holding electronic ordinary passports, and it will be more convenient for Chinese citizens to enter and leave the country with electronic ordinary passports.

Third, the customs clearance environment for permit holders has been improved. Self-inspection of entry-exit passengers has been widely used in China and achieved good results. After the launch of the electronic ordinary passport, it will provide technical conditions for the holder to obtain more convenient entry and exit services such as self-service customs clearance.

C. E-passports are also very different from the original passports: 1. An electronic chip icon has been added to the bottom of the passport cover. 2. The background picture on the inside page of passport has changed greatly. It adopts the pattern elements with the theme of "Brilliant China", which are expressed in three forms: constant light, fluorescence and watermark. Among them, Changguang and Fluorescence exhibited 3 1 provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the Central Government, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan's landmark landscapes. The watermark selects the characters of 56 nationalities in China. 3. Has the passport number been changed from the original G to E? Laser drilling technology is adopted to improve the anti-counterfeiting ability. Passport chip, placed on the last page of passport, is very light and thin, almost like a small piece of colored stripes printed on paper. The chip stores the digital personal data of the holder, including basic information such as name, gender, date of birth and place of birth, as well as information such as the validity period, date and place of issuance of the passport, and adds biometric features such as the holder's appearance, fingerprint and iris.
