Some basic functions of tourism (1) economic functions. As a comprehensive industry, the development of tourism is conducive to alleviating the employment problem, promoting the development of other industries, promoting the development of regional economy, accelerating the infrastructure construction of tourist destinations and improving the lives of local residents. On June 25th, 2009, the the State Council executive meeting discussed and approved in principle the Opinions on Accelerating the Development of Tourism. The meeting proposed that tourism should be cultivated into a strategic pillar industry of the national economy and a modern service industry that the people are more satisfied with. At present, the domestic tourism industry has entered a period of rapid development. As the leader of modern service industry, tourism will become one of the strategic pillar industries to promote the rapid development of the tertiary industry. As the focus of the tertiary industry, tourism is an important part of modern service industry. At present, the added value of China, the proportion of American tourism in GDP is more than 4%, which plays an increasingly important role in promoting economic growth. Obviously, the economic function of tourism is self-evident. (2) Ecological function. Tourism is called smokeless industry, which shows that tourism is an industry with relatively low environmental cost and relatively high output benefit of emission reduction. By carrying out various forms of tourism activities such as green tourism, eco-tourism, environmental protection tourism, ethnic customs tour and visiting historical sites, we can not only appreciate the beauty of the natural world and explore national crafts, but also cultivate our sentiments in the natural landscape and purify our hearts in cultural sites, so that our love for the mountains and rivers of the motherland comes from the heart, and our reverence for the heroes of the sages will naturally inspire our awareness and enthusiasm for protecting resources and the environment. Our consumption in tourism has also accumulated funds for the protection of tourism resources and ecological environment, and finally played an important role in promoting the whole tourism resources and environmental protection. (3) Cultural function. Bourdieu believes that people mainly rely on four types of capital in the competition of social life: (1) economic capital, which can be directly converted into money immediately and institutionalized in the form of property rights; (2) Cultural capital can be transformed into economic capital under certain conditions and institutionalized in the form of educational capital; (3) Social capital, which is a connecting system composed of social obligations. This kind of capital can also be transformed into economic capital under certain conditions and institutionalized in the form of aristocratic titles; (4) symbolic capital. Under certain conditions, different forms of capital can be transformed into each other, but the existence and movement of each kind of capital has its own relative autonomy. Turner, a famous contemporary American sociologist, concluded that Bourdieu's American cultural capital is manifested in informal interpersonal skills, habits, attitudes, language style, educational quality, taste and lifestyle. It can be said that many elements and forms that constitute cultural capital can be reflected in different ways in tourism. When people travel, especially in the process of traveling around the world, they will learn more or less about different civilizations through contact with people of different races, beliefs, cultural backgrounds, nationalities and social classes. In this process of understanding, different civilized groups will have fruitful exchanges, gain understanding in exchanges, gain trust in understanding, and gain trust. In the process of traveling, people can not only appreciate the beauty of humanity and nature, but also feel the unique charm of foreign cultures. They not only lamented the ingenuity of nature, but also marveled at the supreme wisdom of the world. In this way, in tourism, different cultures can communicate and merge, the sparks of wisdom collide in communication, and the essence of different cultures is extracted in integration. (4) Diplomatic function. The diplomatic function mentioned here can be broadly understood as informal folk diplomacy, which is characterized by comprehensiveness, continuity and depth. The so-called comprehensive means that this kind of diplomacy can involve all fields except formal diplomacy. The so-called persistence means that this kind of communication lasts for a long time. The so-called in-depth, refers to some external events as the medium for deeper communication. This kind of communication is not only flexible and diverse, but also can perform special tasks when the relationship between the two countries is abnormal, which will lead to formal diplomacy, thus making some
Tourism, as a special form of communication, people can not only discuss topics of common interest, but also learn about their own existing culture and behavior hardships, indomitable enterprising spirit, unique wisdom and profound pioneering spirit by understanding their ancestors, so as to have admiration for this nation and make them look at foreign civilizations without colored eyes. Then consider your behavior from the other side. In thinking, you will find your previous ignorance and arrogance, and you will tolerate each other's so-called strange behavior. Finally, you will accept others in tolerance, take yourself seriously in correction, and get along well in understanding. (5) Leisure function. In modern society, with the acceleration of the pace of life and work, people are at a loss in their work, life and social relations for a long time. In order to eliminate tension, they will naturally seek solutions, and tourism is one of the ways to achieve this goal. People get rid of the shackles of the original environment, temporarily forget their inner troubles, and readjust their mentality through traveling and indulging in cultural relics, thus effectively eliminating or alleviating the original pressure and tension. (6) Educational function. At first, tourists were all intellectuals. They are addicted to scenery and visiting places of interest. Even if they want to relieve their troubles, it is more important to feel nature, explore wisdom and seek novelty. These are all studies. The ancients said, read thousands of books and take Wan Li Road. ; From a certain point of view, tourism has included the educational function from the beginning. Nowadays, the educational function of tourism has been more widely reflected. With the coming of knowledge economy and extensive international communication, people need to know more about the world. This kind of knowledge can not only stay in study, but more importantly, they should have practical experience, which the tourism industry can provide. Tourism shows its unique charm with its diverse forms and profound connotations. For example, by visiting historical sites, we can have a concrete understanding of book knowledge, thus turning history into vivid pictures. This picture can bring us endless reverie and deep thought, open our wisdom, thus play the role of tourism and assume the educational responsibility of inheriting the humanistic spirit.
