Notice on reaffirming the strict inspection of approval letters for foreign passengers (including passengers from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan) entering Tibet

Dear guests:

According to the regulations of the Civil Aviation Administration of China, Foreign passengers (including those from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan) who travel to Tibet by Chinese civil aviation must present a valid passport and an original valid travel approval letter for Tibet issued by the relevant department. They are not allowed to enter Tibet without a travel approval letter for Tibet. Foreigners must Passengers (including tourists from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan) must ensure that they have a travel approval letter for Tibet when purchasing tickets.

In order to ensure the smooth entry of foreign tourists (including tourists from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan) into Tibet, the units with the authority to issue "Approval Letters for Entry into Tibet" to foreigners are now announced again as follows: United Front Work Department of the Tibet Autonomous Region Party Committee, Tibet Autonomous Region Taiwan Affairs Office, Tibet Autonomous Region Commerce Department, Tibet Autonomous Region Tourism Bureau, Tibet Autonomous Region Foreign Affairs Office, Tibet Autonomous Region Mountaineering Association and other six departments.
