The Significance of Protecting Tourism Environment

(1) Tourism environment is an important standard to measure the quality of a tourist area and an important image element of a tourist area. The evaluation criteria of national tourist areas involve many environmental factors. In the national standard "Classification and Evaluation of Quality Grades of Tourist Areas (spots)" (GB/T 1775— 1999), there are three systems to determine the grade of tourist areas (spots), namely, service quality and environmental quality evaluation system, landscape quality evaluation system and tourist opinion evaluation system. Resource and environmental protection is one of the important evaluation items. The contents include air quality, noise quality, water environment quality, landscape, protection of cultural relics and ancient buildings, environmental atmosphere (harmony, ecological status, etc. ) In terms of tourists' experience, what people often say about a place after each travel action is actually to a large extent the tourists' experience and feelings about the tourism environment.

(B) Excellent tourism environment has become an important tourist attraction. With people's reflection on modern life, the awareness of environmental protection is deeply rooted in people's hearts, and tourists' desire to pursue a good tourism environment is also stronger. Beautiful mountains and rivers, primitive and simple ecological and humanistic environment are more popular with tourists, while those places with deteriorating environment and poor artificial landscape are increasingly rejected by tourists. Although some scenic spots have neither excellent cultural relics nor peculiar natural landscapes, they have excellent environmental quality or a particularly healthy environmental element, and can also become eco-tourism and leisure resorts because of their excellent environment.

(3) There is a close interdependence between resources and the environment, and the destruction and deterioration of the environment will greatly reduce or even destroy the value of resources. For example, a famous waterfall in China is facing a water shortage crisis due to the deterioration of the upstream ecological environment, imbalance of soil and water conservation, and reduction of inflow. As a result, it became a spectacular waterfall, known as the first waterfall in China. Now it has become "a trickle, a few drops of clear tears." It not only makes people feel frustrated, but also frustrates their application for world natural heritage. Another example is China, a world natural heritage with a famous sandstone peak forest landscape. A sightseeing elevator called "the first ladder in the world" was built in the scenic spot, which seriously affected the natural landscape value and was widely questioned by experts and scholars.

(4) The practice of China's tourism development in the past 20 years proves that although tourism is known as "sunrise industry" and "smokeless industry", it is by no means a pollution-free industry. No matter in the process of tourism development and construction, tourism management and tourism activities, it will bring considerable economic and social (employment) benefits, but it will also bring some negative environmental impacts and problems. Such as tourism waste, water, soil, air pollution, disturbed ecological balance, over-exploitation of some precious resources, destructive construction and so on. These problems are not terrible. It is important to take appropriate preventive and protective measures in time to solve these problems in time. The development of tourism must not be at the expense of the environment, and must not take the old road of pollution first and then treatment. Ensuring a good and safe environment has become the basic element to promote the sustainable development of tourism. The development of tourism should give consideration to the protection of resources and environment, and strengthen the protection and comprehensive management of tourism environment. The four stages of modern tourism development: resource-product-market-environment, that is, from resource development to product development, to market development, to environmental development and construction, are conceptual innovations and behavioral progress again and again. The implementation of modern tourism has put environmental protection and construction in the first strategic position.
