Recommended tourist attractions in Dalian, Qingdao
I am from Qingdao and now go to school in Dalian. I can understand the original poster’s thoughts. Let me tell you what I find interesting.
Qingdao:
Qingdao’s coastline is very beautiful. It is recommended that you play along the coastline.
The west coast is the old city with unique buildings, such as Badaguan, Signal Hill, Christian Church, Catholic Church, and trestle. Specifically Baidu will do.
Going east is the new city area with many business districts. It's very convenient for shopping and so on. The Olympic sailing bases and polar regions are all in the east.
There are many bathing beaches at the seaside, and the conditions of each bathing beach are different. Generally speaking, the Shilaoren Bathing Beach has slightly fewer people and is cleaner, but the wolf is bigger.
Polar Ocean World and Underwater World are also worth visiting, but they require admission.
If you are not joining a group, I suggest you take Route 501. Route 501 is almost all along the seaside attractions.
If you come in mid-August, you can still catch the Oktoberfest.
Dalian:
To be honest, the coastal line of Dalian is not as beautiful as Qingdao. Qingdao is the kind where developed coastal areas spread inland. Dalian develops radially outward with various squares as the center.
The seaside attractions include Laohu Beach and Xinghai Square. I won’t go into details, just use Baidu.
Dalian’s Discovery Kingdom is a pretty good theme park. The projects are all exciting. If you want to go, just take the light rail from the train station to the main station. But you must go early, as it will take more than half of the time to queue.
For shopping, go to the Victory Underground Plaza near the train station (the legendary largest underground shopping plaza in Asia, 1***-3 floors), Qingniwa Pedestrian Street, Xi'an Road, etc.
That’s about it. Give it a good review!
