I want to travel abroad to Russia. Do I still need a visa?

If you are traveling in a group, you are exempt from visa; but if you are traveling individually, you still need to apply for a visa.

According to the agreement between China and Russia, as long as Chinese citizens hold a valid overseas passport and sign up for a group tour at a travel agency designated by the National Tourism Administration, they can be exempted from the visa fee of 413 yuan and the time spent on visas. It provides convenience for Chinese citizens to travel to Russia.

According to the agreement, group tourism refers to a group of tourists from one country (Russia and China) with a number of between 5 and 50 people (inclusive) traveling to another country for the purpose of tourism.

Personal tourist visa:

1. A valid passport and a copy of the passport homepage.

2. 1 photo (1 inch or 2 inches is acceptable).

3. Visa application form (you should answer all the questions in the form, which can be downloaded from the embassy website).

4. The original letter and its copy issued by a Russian travel agency confirming the reception of foreign tourists.

The entry and exit procedures are simple, but if you bring a large amount of cash into the country, you need to declare it. Tourists who have not declared the amount of foreign currency can only carry US$500 when leaving the country. The remaining amount must purchase a transaction certificate from the bank and pay a fee of 3% of the amount. Each person is only allowed to take out 300 grams of caviar. You must carry your passport and visa with you when traveling, otherwise you will be fined and detained.
