Jin 'e Mountain, Dameishan, Hengxi Reservoir (Hengxi Lake) and Jin 'e Basin are the basic components of the scenic terrain. The area is surrounded by green hills, towering peaks, multi-valley basins and grotesque rocks. The highest peak, Jin 'e Mountain, is 633 meters above sea level and belongs to Tiantai Mountain range. Hengxi, originating from Cheng 'ao at the eastern end of the scenic spot, runs through the whole territory, with a total length of 12.5 km. Hengxi Reservoir, one of the core landscapes, has a storage capacity of 3,975 cubic meters and a water area of 1.68 square kilometers. Jin 'e Mountain and Damei Mountain have beautiful scenery and have been one of the scenic spots in Ningbo since ancient times. Before the Tang and Song Dynasties, Hengxi Town was the main road leading to the south of Zhejiang, which was once prosperous in history. The Dameishan Zen in Meifu, the traditional Dameishan Zen style, and the Baizhang Purity Regulations in Huaihai attracted scholars and scholars from all previous dynasties, and all those who sought immortals to visit Zen came here. When Wang Anshi was appointed county magistrate in Song Dynasty, he traveled to Dameishan and lived in Fu Bao Temple. Lou Yao, an official in the Southern Song Dynasty, wrote in "You Da Mei Shan": In order to recall the plum blossoms in Xijing, people say it is not gloomy; There are no traces of ancient tombs on the seashore, but there are gods in the peaks outside the mountain. Great beauty Zen spread far and wide, and later generations were introduced to Japan. According to the records of Tiantong Temple, the Sanzang Temple in Dameishan was listed as one of the top ten permanent temples with Tiantong Temple and Yanqing Temple in the sixth year of Tang Yinzong (847), and was waiting for monks from all over the country to participate in meditation. In modern times, Mao stayed in Jingu Temple for six years, and Chiang Kai-shek also went to Jingu Temple to worship Buddha many times.

According to historical records, Mei Fu, a famous alchemist in China, once lived in seclusion in Dameishan, calling himself "Wumengcui" and abandoned his family to seek immortality. Now the remains are faintly visible. Since then, Baizhang Huaihai and Dameifa, the descendants of the ninth generation of Zen Buddhism, have successively established Jin 'e Temple, Fu Bao Temple and Hu 'an Temple in Jin 'e Mountain and Dameishan, making this area one of the cradles of Zen direct transmission system. Jin 'e Mountain is tall and straight, with overlapping peaks and rocks, and streams fall into the water. The five peaks of Dameishan stand towering like a five-leaf lotus in full bloom in the wind. Jin 'e Mountain is like a swan spreading its wings and flying in the clouds. Climbing to the top of the mountain overlooks the prosperity of Ningbo City and the sea and sky of Xiangshan Port. The scenic spot has a good ecological environment, complete vegetation, green hills and canyons, lush forests, bamboo forests, pine and cypress, showing the beauty of natural landscape. Hengxi Lake, flowing through it, is quiet and overflowing; Flowers are everywhere, birds are singing and flowers are fragrant, just like a paradise. The scenery of scenic spots changes endlessly with the change of seasons, giving people wonderful enjoyment of nature.
