Main Attractions

Zhang Jian’s Tomb

Zhang Jian died of illness on August 24, 1926 at the age of 74, and was buried here on November 1 of the same year. Zhang Jian's tomb was destroyed during the Cultural Revolution and his bronze statue was smashed. What you see now was rebuilt in 1985, with a height of 1.98 meters. Zhang Jian turned this place into a cemetery because the cloud towers on his Langshan Mountain were like a pair of candlesticks stuck high in the clouds, meaning that the incense was burning all year round. Zhang Jian's funeral objects were very simple, including a crutch used in his old age, a pair of glasses, a chipped teacup, and a tire patch.

Grave of Mr. Zhang

Zhang’s sons Zhang Xiaoruo, Zhang Xueliang and Yuan were the four great princes of the Republic of China. Unfortunately, he was accidentally killed in Shanghai at the age of 38, leaving 6 descendants. Only three of them are still alive. The eldest daughter, Zhang, is in Taiwan Province, the second daughter, Zhang Rouwu, is in Nantong, and the youngest son, Zhang, is in Beijing. He is the former vice chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce and currently the deputy director of the National Law Commission.

Lounge

The lounge is a combination of Chinese and Western architecture. It consists of two brick and wood structures with a construction area of ??127.37 square meters. It was built in 1956 by Zhang Jian's granddaughter Zhang Rouwu. When it was completed, the famous Chinese writer and historian Guo Moruo specially inscribed a plaque titled "Teacher Zhang Jizhi Memorial Hall". It is a pity that this plaque disappeared during the Cultural Revolution. Now, we have turned this hall into a Zhang Jian historical materials exhibition hall, using precious historical pictures to briefly display Zhang Jian’s life and the funeral scene when he died.

Huaxi Waterwheel

The waterwheel, an ancient agricultural production tool, reappears in Sikuan. You can experience the fun of ‘car traffic’. The clear river water flows into the cobblestone winding creek when the wheels turn, and the sound of gurgling water accompanies the singing of your labor. It's really fun.
