Three necessary documents for traveling abroad?

Going through the procedures for traveling abroad is not yet an easy task in China, but it is certainly much simpler than in the past. Moreover, since overseas trips are mostly organized by travel agencies, the main procedures are also handled by travel agencies, saving a lot of trouble. Generally speaking, there are three types of necessary documents:

Passport

A passport is your "identity card" after going abroad. It proves that you are a Chinese citizen. If you encounter unexpected situations abroad, , the Chinese embassy abroad will come forward to protect you and solve your difficulties. When you go abroad, after your life, it is the second most important thing. You must not throw it around or lose it, otherwise it will cause a lot of unnecessary trouble.

Generally speaking, when traveling abroad, the public security department will issue a single-use passport. When you join an overseas tour group, the travel agency will issue you an "application form". You only need to fill out this "application form" and the travel agency will issue your passport on its behalf.

The relevant content on the "Application Form" is as follows: name, age, workplace, resume, and your employer's opinions on your overseas travel. If your household registration is out of town, you must also fill in the opinions of the public security unit.

After filling in the "Application Form", submit your work permit, household register, copy of your ID card and five two-inch half-length photos to the travel agency, which will use them to apply for a passport.

Visa

If a passport is a "pass" for going abroad, then a visa is an "entry permit" issued to you by the country and region you are going to. This permit is a stamp on the page printed with "VISA" in your passport.

If you join a travel agency tour, the travel agency will take your passport to apply for a visa at the embassy and consulate of the relevant country or region.

After these two procedures are completed, the tour guide accompanying you will give you your passport before you leave the country.

International Vaccination Certificate and International Travel Health Certificate

In addition to your passport and visa, you should apply for a health certificate from the local quarantine department and receive relevant vaccinations.

Each city has its own dedicated local health and quarantine bureau. You'd better go to the Quarantine Bureau to apply for a physical examination two weeks before leaving the country. Generally, when applying, you need to submit two two-inch half-length photos, fill out the "application form", indicate whether you need a certificate valid for six months or one year, and pay a fee. After completing the formalities, you can receive a health examination and apply for vaccinations.

There are two main types of vaccinations, cholera and yellow fever. The cholera vaccination is valid for 6 months and the yellow fever vaccination is valid for 10 years.

After the health examination and vaccination are completed, the Quarantine Bureau will notify you to collect the certificate in a week or 10 days. If you want to get the certificate quickly, you will have to pay an additional "expedited fee".

The above two documents are universal in the world, especially the vaccination certificate, which is called the "yellow card". It is a valid document when traveling internationally. When going abroad, the security department will ask you to provide these two documents. If you forget this procedure in China, the security department at the airport will arrange for you to go through the inspection and issue you a substitute pass.

Although it is a bit troublesome, for the sake of your own health, it is better to get the above documents as soon as possible.
