Lugu Lake Tourism

According to comrades from the Lijiang Municipal Transportation Bureau, the landslide was caused by heavy rain on the afternoon of the 18th. On the highway from Lijiang to Ninglang, landslides occurred in many places, including a large-scale subsidence of the roadbed, causing traffic to be completely interrupted.

According to the reporter’s understanding, about dozens of tourist buses were trapped on the road on the Ninglang County side of the landslide. There are nearly a thousand passengers on these buses, most of whom are returning to Lijiang after visiting Lugu Lake.

As of around 5 pm on the 19th, seeing that the road section was still not open to traffic, most tourist buses began to turn around and prepare to return to Ninglang County.

At present, emergency repair personnel from the Lijiang Highway General Section have rushed to the scene to start emergency repair work. Due to the difficulty of repairing the collapsed roadbed, the time it will take to restore it to traffic is still uncertain.
