Brief introduction of LULU ancient town
Suzhou, a water town in the south of Yangtze River. Water is the soul of Suzhou, which nurtures Suzhou people and brings aura and wealth to Suzhou. Water has made Suzhou a paradise on earth with Suzhou and Hangzhou under it. There are too many ancient towns in Suzhou: beautiful Tongli, Zhouzhuang, the first water town in China, Qiandeng Ancient Town, the birthplace of Kunqu and so on, all of which have become the must-see places for tourists to visit Suzhou. With all the voices, these water towns in the south of the Yangtze River have lost their former quiet appearance.
But there is also an ancient town in Suzhou with a history of 2,500 years, which is little known. Quiet is the quiet appearance of the imaginary Jiangnan water town.
The trip to Laojie Village brought you to the ancient town of LULU.
LULU Ancient Town is located at the junction of Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai in Wujiang City, Jiangsu Province. It is a typical Jiangnan water town with a history of 2500 years. This used to be the border of wuyue at the end of the Spring and Autumn Period, and the water army of the State of Wu left historical names such as Wuzitan and Dianjiangtai here. Its profound cultural heritage is also one of the birthplaces of Wu culture.
The town is built by the water, stands by the water, and the rivers are vertical and horizontal, forming a unique landscape of Jiangnan water town.
The city river of LULU Town runs through the north and south, with clean old streets on both sides of the river, and Toona sinensis trees planted many years ago on both sides of the river bank, which have grown very tall now. Rivers, stone bridges and houses in the Qing Dynasty are scattered among them, and the old houses and new houses along the street are mixed together, which is not messy at all, but appears to be scattered. At present, the ancient town has not been over-commercialized and tourists are scarce, but this original ecology is a more attractive place.
Walking along the river, we will see that although there are no prominent high-rise buildings in the ancient town, many ancient houses with deep courtyards are crumbling, revealing vicissitudes, but we can still feel its once luxury and style.
In Hebei, there is an arched stone bridge named Guanyin Bridge, which is the only ancient stone bridge left in the town. There is no way to confirm the date when the bridge was originally built. The present bridge was rebuilt in the thirty-five years of Qianlong. At the top of the bridge, four stone lions stand out from the crowd, and there is a famous old pomegranate tree on the north side of the bridge. Every May, when pomegranate is in bloom, the scenery on the bridge is the most beautiful time of the year.
In addition to Guanyin Bridge, there are buildings across the street in LULU, all of which are very distinctive buildings. At present, there are still three well-preserved buildings, namely, LULU Street Crossing Building, Xushi Street Crossing Building and Shenshi Street Crossing Building. It's rainy in the south of the Yangtze River, so you won't get wet when you walk through the streets on rainy days.
LULU is rich in material and cultural heritage, and its intangible cultural heritage enjoys a good reputation at home and abroad. LULU folk songs are its representative projects. LULU folk songs have a long history, many singers, a vast singing area and rich works, and are unique in the field of China folk songs. In particular, the appearance of the narrative Long song's Five Girls sung by Lu Amei broke the long-standing conclusion that there is no Long song in Han areas, which can be compared with Liu Sanjie of Zhuang nationality and Ashima of Yi nationality.
Strolling in the old street, the sparkling water reflects the Toona sinensis trees on both sides of the river, watching people come and go, and watching the continuous scenery from ancient times to the Republic of China to modern times. History and the breath of modern people are harmoniously integrated in a waterscape in the south of the Yangtze River. It is spiritual comfort and visual enjoyment.
