The most beautiful hiking route in Tibet is the Xixiabangma North and South Slope Base Camp Great Loop Line

At the source of millions of rivers

In the center of this world

On the plateau illuminated by Buddha's light.

In Tibet surrounded by snow-capped mountains

Three steps or two steps is the way to the sky.

There are still so many people.

I am so worried that I can’t walk.

Yao, today’s protagonist.

When we talk about the top trekking routes in Tibet, the great Himalayas are a topic that can never be avoided. The huge Himalayas span the border, including Yadong Valley, Jilong Valley, Zhangmu Valley, Chentang Valley and Gama Valley. These five cracks running through it form the most fascinating adventure map for hikers.

Their stunning natural scenery and different customs of Tibet will take you to experience a little-known Himalayas.

The world’s 8,000-meter peak spreads out here. Mount Everest, the first of the 14 8,000-meter peaks, is a world-class symbol; the 8,000-meter peak at the end of the 14 blocks is an old one that will never be forgotten. However, the boss has the majesty of the boss, and Lao Yao has Lao Yao's unique charm.

Mount Everest is not the protagonist today.

The protagonist I want to talk about today is:

The oldest "Shishapangma" among the fourteen 8,000-meter snow-capped mountains in the world.

And her arrogant and cold mountains.

China’s most low-key 8,000-meter peak

Xibang Ma Feng is located in Nyalam County, Shigatse, Tibet, in the middle section of the Himalayas, 10 kilometers north of the main ridgeline, southeast of Kugangri Mountain, running southeast to northwest. It is located at 85.7 east longitude and 28.3 north latitude, about 120 kilometers away from Mount Everest.

Xibangma Peak is composed of three sister peaks with similar heights. There are two peaks of 8008 meters and 7966 meters respectively 200 meters and 400 meters northwest of the main peak. In addition, there is Molamen Qingfeng with an altitude of 7703 meters to the east, and Pengqing Peak with an altitude of 7966 meters to the northwest. The mountain peaks are covered with snow all year round.

Although it is the oldest of the 14-seater, it has held back the best climbers in the world. The death rate is more than twice that of Mount Everest, ranking it sixth out of 14 seats.

In past geographical records, it was generally called gosainthan, which translated into Chinese is "praise of eminent monks", which means "Holy Temple". This is a scripture from a temple in Kathmandu. Very religious.

But in fact, its earliest name should be shishapangma. Because from the beginning, Tibetans only called her "Xixia Bangma Feng", which is a transliteration of Tibetan and means "a cold female mountain goddess".

According to local legend, the mountain god is very cold. The herdsmen offended her and let their cattle and sheep die. If farmers break the law, let the barley turn yellow. The cattle and sheep are dead and the barley has turned yellow. How can people survive? So people worship her every year.

Her glory and ruthlessness

There are many honors belonging to China, but in the field of mountaineering, the most important one that cannot be ignored is that it climbed Sisha 55 years ago The pinnacle of Bangma. This is a place of glory for many climbers, but it is also definitely a place of right and wrong. What lingers here is right and wrong. Tourism in southern Xinjiang is almost as high as its height.

On May 2, 1964, the Chinese mountaineering team, Zhang and ten other people successfully planted the five-star red flag on the summit, marking that all the highest peaks above 8,000 meters in the world have been climbed by humans. Not only was it the only peak among the 8,000-meter peaks climbed by Chinese people for the first time, it was also the time when the most people climbed to the top.

In 2002, the Peking University mountaineering team encountered the most serious disaster in 2002 A mountain disaster. Since then, Xisxia Bangma has turned a glorious and sad page. As of September 2014, 201 people have successfully climbed to the top of Mount Himalaya, and 21 people have slept here. Including the tragic mountain disaster of the Peking University mountaineering team.

On August 7, 2002, five members of the Peking University Mountain Eagle Club (Lin, Yang Lei, Lu Zhen, and Zhang) were killed in an avalanche while climbing to the west peak of Xixia No. 1 Peak. So far, this is the most difficult mountaineering challenge faced by the Chinese college student mountaineering team. The significance and value of mountain climbing has aroused heated discussions throughout society. There is also this question: Why climb the peak when you have already entered China's top university

——On September 29, 2009, Luo Jing successfully climbed to the top of Xishan Mountain. Since climbing Mount Manaslu in 2011, Luo Jing has completed her 8,000-meter dream 14 times in 7 years, becoming the first Chinese woman to complete this challenge. However, five days later, there was a "peak memory" and a thunder on the ground, which was unexpected. The Chinese outdoor circle once again turned its attention to this cold mountain. Which is the real top? What’s wrong with China’s commercial mountaineering environment? There was an uproar in public opinion, but Sister Feng said nothing.

Luo Jing climbed to the top of Mount Shishaboma; the picture shows Luo Jing during the day.

“We come with courage, leave with pain, we come back again, we will eventually leave, leaving our memories in this silent valley forever”——“Xifeng, Not Yet The End》

Everyone has their own answer to mountain climbing. For decades, Shishapangma has not only attracted domestic and foreign climbers to climb to a height of 8,000 meters, but also attracted many mountaineers to approach it on foot with its unique charm.

Tibet’s next top hiking route

This peak marks the glory and sorrow of a few climbers, and is also a gift to mountain friends in another way: hiking.

Because Xixia Bangma Mountain is the only 8,000-meter snow-capped mountain in China, we can hike deep into Xifeng, an 8,000-meter mountain.

There are currently two main ways to walk on Shishapangma in China:
