Shanxi Introduction: Introduction of Wutai Mountain Self-help Tour

Wutai Mountain, the first of the four famous Buddhist mountains in China, has both magnificent natural scenery and rich cultural connotations. Wutai Mountain, the first batch of national scenic spots announced by the State Council, is also the first of the top ten tourist attractions in Shanxi. Wutai Mountain is the Dojo of Manjusri Bodhisattva, so the main halls of many temples here mainly worship Manjusri Bodhisattva. Manjusri Bodhisattva is Sakyamuni's right-hand man, and his mount is a lion, which indicates his wisdom and ferocity. There are many theories about his origin, but the most popular one is that Jing was born in a Brahmin family in Taiwan Province province. Because of his kindness, he became attached to Sakyamuni Buddha and became a disciple of the Buddha, helping the Buddha realize all beings. Among the great bodhisattvas, wisdom and eloquence are the first, so specializing in Buddhist wisdom is called "Manjusri Bodhisattva with Great Wisdom".

climate

Wutai Mountain has a cold climate. Although the latitude is similar to that of Beijing, the climate is similar to that of Daxinganling. Therefore, tourists must pay attention to keep out the cold, and need to bring sweaters and pants before the Spring and Autumn Period. Taiwan Province Province has low clouds and high humidity in summer, and it often rains. You'd better take an umbrella.

There are long-distance bus stations in Huaizhen, which are sent to Taiyuan, Xinzhou, Datong, Yangquan, Shuozhou, Dingxiang, Fan Shi, Shijiazhuang and Beijing.

Brief introduction of main temples in Huaizhen

Xiantong Temple: Taihuai Town is full of Buddhist music with a loud voice. Among the rows of Buddhist temples, Xiantong Temple enjoys the highest reputation. At the foot of the towering Bodhisattva Peak and to the north of the towering Great White Pagoda, the first hall of Wuqing Temple has the largest scale and the longest history, commonly known as the "ancestral hall". If you go up the mountain to worship Buddha, you must first visit Xiantong Temple. There are more than 400 buildings in Xiantong Temple, and there are 7 halls on the central axis, none of which are coordinated. The two-room side hall is complete and tidy, and the Zhaitang Hall is well preserved, including three bronze halls, which are beautifully cast. Columns, lattice fans, flowers, etc. are outlined by copper casting. Two copper towers, 8 meters high, have beautiful appearance. In front of the bell tower, there is a magnificent bronze bell weighing 10 thousand kilograms, and its sound can reach the whole mountain. The Infinite Brick Hall, exquisite brick carvings, the Infinite Life Buddha, the upper algae well, the Huayanjing Pagoda, and all kinds of objects are precious historical relics. Ticket price: 6 yuan

Baota Temple: The attraction of Baota Temple lies in its tall, heavy, broad-minded tower with wind chimes, which is the Great White Pagoda of Wutai Mountain. According to legend, after Sakyamuni's death, he became 84,000 buddhas, and King Ashoka of India cast 84,000 pagodas, which were distributed all over the world. The Great White Pagoda in Wutai Mountain is one of the China 19 pagodas. This 56.4-meter-high monument to the foot of the Buddha attracted countless monks and laymen to pay their respects around the tower.

Jinge Temple: Jinge Temple is away from Taihuai Town in the center of Wutai Mountain 15km. It is the place where you enter Wutai Mountain from South Road and pass the toll gate archway. The terrain here is very high, with an altitude of 1900 meters. The front and back rooms of the temple are connected by a stone coupon cave. There is a Guanyin statue 17.7 meters high in the front yard. It is said that there are 48 hands on the wall. There is an arrow on the arm, a bow on the arm, a nectar bottle on the arm and a snake in the hand. The statue looked up at Guanyin's face and looked up at her. The whole statue is covered with mud gold. Such a huge statue of Guanyin Bodhisattva made by this method is unique not only in five stops, but also in China. Admission: 4 yuan.

Longquan Temple: 10 Below Jingu Temple, there is a north-south gully called Donggou. The fountain pavilion at the foot of Beishan Mountain has springs spewing out, hence the name of Longquan Temple nearby. It is also the only Buddhist temple in Wutai Mountain converted from a family temple. This temple was originally designed in memory of Yang Jiajiang. Shipailou in front of Longquan Temple should be the main reason for your coming. There are four pillars and three doors, but there are buildings, archways, majestic Buddha statues, lifelike birds and beasts, lush flowers and countless precious fruits. There are eighty-nine dragons, and there are twenty lions on the stone pier on the pillar. Flowers and grass leaves are as thin as hair. Such as gauze; Birds and animals, all lifelike, be vividly portrayed, amazing. Admission: 4 yuan.

Luoding: Formerly known as Foding Temple, it is located at the top of the mountain near Qingshui River in Taihuai Town, with a vertical height of 400 meters. Backed by Dongtai Peak, facing Taihuai Basin, mountains and flowers are in full bloom, surrounded by pine and cypress. This temple was built during Chenghua period of Ming Dynasty. In order to satisfy the emperor's desire to worship five times in one temple, he had a whim. Five Manjusri Bodhisattva statues were successively enshrined in the temple, symbolizing the five tops of Wutai Mountain. Since then, the pain of foreign enemies and believers trudging five stops has been eliminated, and they have climbed to the top of Dailuo to worship, also known as "Little Chaotai". Of course, tourists still have to climb 1080 stone steps to show their sincerity. Two tall and straight pine trees in the temple, over 300 years old, are still lush. However, what really makes people feel the top of Rhoda is that the last touch of golden light swept the courtyard before sunset, and the starlight and the lights of five temples merged into a transparent night scene. Admission: 4 yuan.

Bodhisattva Peak: Bodhisattva Peak is located on the Jiu Feng in Taihuai Town, Wutai Mountain. It is the first of the Huangmiao Temple in Wutai Mountain. It was also built in the Northern Wei Dynasty, and in the Ming Dynasty, it became the place where Mongolian and Tibetan lamas lived five times. In the Qing Dynasty, it actually became a royal temple with a very prominent position, and it was also the residence of Zasak Lama, the founder of the Yellow Sect in Wutai Mountain. Bodhisattva Top is a Manchu name, which means the place where Manjusri Bodhisattva lives. The temple represents noble yellow glazed tiles, and the archway on the seventh floor of the four pillars in front of the mountain gate is the symbol of the royal temple. Emperor Kangxi climbed Bodhisattva Peak five times and Emperor Qianlong climbed it six times. The "Lingfeng Scenic Area" on the Shuipai Building outside the Bodhisattva Gate and the "Five Saints" on the stone tablet square in front of Manjushri Hall were inscribed by Emperor Kangxi himself. The inscriptions written in Chinese, Manchu, Mongolian and Tibetan on two four-pillar stone tablets three meters high and one meter wide in the Bodhisattva Hall of the East Buddhist Temple are the imperial pens of Emperor Qianlong. The manjusri statue of Manjusri Bodhisattva Hall is also made in accordance with the classic provisions of Lamaism. Look sideways, twist your waist and wear loose clothes. At the same time, you are wearing a wreath, which is particularly lively and vivid. On both sides of the wall, there are Thangka Tibetan paintings painted on cloth. In addition, there are peach-shaped doctors who write Sanskrit spells on the stigma of Mahatma Hall and Manjusri Bodhisattva Hall. These are full of the charm of Lamaism. It is worth mentioning that Manjusri Hall is also known as Drip Hall. There used to be an ea.

Nanshan Temple: Nanshan Temple is the collective name of Youguo Temple, Gokurakuji Temple and Shande Temple. Wutai Taihuai Town is 3 kilometers south of the mountainside. The Yuan Dynasty was established, and it was supplemented and revised many times in previous dynasties. The forms and structures of temples in the temple have their own characteristics. Nanshan Temple is also famous for its architectural sculptures. Patterns on railings, columns, walls or probes have broken through the scope of Buddhist teachings. The woodcarving patterns under the eaves of the temple are exquisite and decorated with painted gold, which is even more splendid. The "real body" stone carving in the temple was written by Cixi. The sculpture art of Wutaishan Temple was crowned by Nanshan Temple. Admission: 4 yuan.

Bishan Temple: commonly known as Guangji Mao Feng. It is 2 kilometers northeast of Taihuai Town, Wutai Mountain, at the foot of Beitai Mountain. It is the largest ten-faced Zen in Wutai Mountain. According to the regulations, Shifang Temple is a temple specially used by tourists and monks. "No shaving is allowed in the Tenth Hall." No one is allowed to keep it for himself. During the Republic of China, Long Fu, a monk living in a temple, tried to change this nature, arguing with dozens of representatives of the Buddhist community and even the government, and finally he was able to maintain the original temple rules of the factory. So the enemies all over the mountain especially admire this place. Bishan Temple is surrounded by trees and streams are gurgling. Legend has it that it was built in the Northern Wei Dynasty. The front yard is mostly a single-story hall, and the backyard is covered with double-eaves pavilions, which are beautifully carved and unique. All the statues in the temple are works of the Qing Dynasty. Ticket price: 4 yuan

Brief introduction of temples outside Taiwan Province Province

Bukki: Bukki's name is always closely associated with its discoverer, Mr. Liang Sicheng, an expert on ancient architecture in China. 1937 In the summer, when Mr. Liang Sicheng visited Dunhuang murals, he noticed a painting of Wutai Mountain: an ancient temple, Lin Lizhong, vaguely saw a pagoda. In Beikeji, Professor Liang discovered the "Zuta" of the Northern Wei Dynasty which experienced 1400 years of ups and downs. It cuts bricks with ropes and ties lotus pillars in Indian style. Not only that, the whole North Keji is the temple of architectural sculpture art in Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties. The discovery of Bukoji is undoubtedly a new continent of ancient art, and the arch-eye murals with iron cyan and stone green as the main colors vaguely reveal the features of Dunhuang. Mo Bao in the Tang Dynasty under the East Tang Liang is a rare treasure, which is also called "the four wonders of Wuguo Temple" with architecture and sculpture. Foguang New Village, located in the north of Doucun, Wutai County, 30 kilometers away from Wutai County, is one of the seven existing temples outside Taiwan Province Province. The other six are nanzenji, Yanqing Temple, Guangji Temple, Zheng Song Temple, Yanshan Temple and Secret Temple. Tickets: 10 yuan

Nanzenji: nanzenji is the first temple Wutai met on the South Road. It is located on the bank cliff near Li Jiacun, Baiyang Township, Wutai County. Surrounded by trees, gurgling streams and green hills, it escaped the looting of the sword and the outlaws in the Tang Dynasty. Although it is far from the center of Wutai Mountain, it is not at any peak, but visiting this temple has reached the highest peak of Wutai Mountain cultural relics. Because there is a Buddhist temple in nanzenji, which is the oldest wooden structure in China. Twelve eaves columns support the huge temple, the corner columns are upward, the stigma of the eaves columns is slightly lower, and the bucket arch is inclined upward. Thick walls are not load-bearing, but only play a role in shielding the wind and rain, so the building is stable and beautiful. The statues in the temple are also full of the charm of the Tang Dynasty, and the 70 brick carvings around the Buddhist altar are still dignified. The preservation of nanzenji is a blessing to Chinese civilization. Admission: 7 yuan.

Transportation: The best way to get to Beikeji is to take a bus from Taiyuan or Wutai Mountain in Xinzhou or Wutai Mountain in Taiyuan in Xinzhou, and get off at Doucun. Taiyuan Yidou Village is around 25 yuan, Wutai Mountain 10 yuan, and five people from Doucun Village take a chartered bus to and from 20 yuan. Doucun to Beikeji is a 7-kilometer highway, and there is no special bus to reach it. In this way, tourists can get off on the way to Wutai Mountain to visit Beidou Temple, and only need to spend more 20 yuan.

Shopping: Yanglin Street, Taihuai Town, Wutai Mountain Center, is a commercial street. Many tourist attractions also have souvenir shops. When buying local specialties, you can bargain appropriately. The difference between Taishan Temple and other local temples is that tourist souvenirs and relics are sold outside the temple gate, and there are basically no retail stalls in the temple. Invisibly feel the solemn and special religious and artistic atmosphere in the temple.
