Thailand independent travel guide experience
Thailand is a very popular tourist destination among Chinese people. It has very cool beaches and unique ethnic customs, as well as transvestite performances that are very popular among men, giving you a different experience. Passionate and sour, let me share with you my experience of traveling freely in Thailand.
Phuket
Perhaps it’s just my own illusion. When I’m in the province, if I go to a place and walk hundreds of kilometers, I’ll reach my destination. Instead, it feels like such a long distance. Later, I left the province, arrived at a place, had a look, and then went to the next scenic spot, which was another few hundred kilometers, but because of the expansion of space, I felt that walking such a distance was no longer a problem.
Three mornings. Three locations. We are still some distance away from where we want to go. The habits I come into contact with in life are foreign. There are no fried dough sticks, no spicy soup, but bread slices, milk, tropical fruits, cereals, and jams. I stood in the restaurant, choosing what I liked. Later, I opened the refrigerator and drank the milk in it, and ate the original bread. An advertisement for the milk we drank was playing on the TV on the wall of the restaurant. Also starting from this morning, I slowly adapted to breakfast in a foreign country. At the beginning, I still missed a certain snack in my hometown. I missed their taste, and later, the Thai diet slowly dulled my taste buds' cravings, and I forgot what I really liked. Milk and omelette without salt have become my breakfast necessities.
The car that took us to the island came on time. I didn’t even have time to see what Phuket was like. Just like many times when we travel, there are too many scenery on the road, but we have no time to look more carefully. The word "行" determines that we have to cross the distance between us and our destination, no matter what mode of transportation we use. Sometimes, even after half a dream, when I open my eyes, the mountains, rivers and years have changed.
Phi Phi Island
From Phuket to Phi Phi Island. A two-hour flight. Because I took seasickness medicine, I was so heavy during the whole process that I could hardly open my eyes. I don’t know if seasickness medicine is to anesthetize your nerves to cure seasickness. What I spent was a light and illusory space. Until the arrival of the destination woke me up.
To be precise, we went to the northern part of Phi Phi Island. I have been thinking about it and imagining it for a long time, but when it really came to my eyes, I felt a little dazed and tired to relax. The hotel is too close to the beach. When looking from the ferry, the sea water almost reaches the hotel. Coconut trees and bushes are a little cramped and crowded on the beach. I once thought that a vacation island must have an open road. Or large man-made structures.
The shoal is a bit long, so we have to ferry back and forth by a long-tail boat. While the long-tail boat was driving, I took a quick look at the water on Phi Phi Island. It was green and green. When I got off the boat, As the water rippled, the white sand at the bottom of the water was clearly visible.
Someone was moving luggage. The hotel staff were wearing purple skirts, holding towels and saying Savadika to us, and asked us to wipe our faces with towels in simple Chinese. I hesitated at that time. Perhaps more negative news about domestic scenic spots made me wary. I didn’t know if there was a fee. I could only force a smile and use the excuse of being sensible to step aside and avoid her. To this day, I'm still ashamed of myself.
That’s it, I went to Phi Phi Island. The sea water, the beach, and the ice-cold juice affect our vision and taste bit by bit, as if we have opened a box that we have imagined but never seen. There are surprises in every layer that we can't hide. Even after I came back, when my wife and I talked about Phi Phi Island, we still regretted that we were in a hurry there. It was our first time to go abroad, and we were always thinking about it, as if a string was stretched, and we didn't dare to relax easily. If we have another chance, we will definitely go to Phi Phi Island again and even stay in this hotel again, just because those warm memories will never be alienated by time.
Or because of the seasickness medicine, I fell asleep for a while in the afternoon. The door of the house is a floor-to-ceiling window, so the house seems empty. We blew out the incense that was originally lit because we were not used to it. The moisture of the seawater spread into the house, and I felt like I was on the sea, floating slowly. Our accommodation is in the outermost row. When we open the door, we can see the clouds on the sea, and we can walk more than ten meters to the beach. Groups of clouds, low and low, just floated above the sea. The children were playing in the pool and there were few people. Later I learned that there were only four hotels here.
The wind has picked up on the sea, and the clouds are moving in groups. I haven’t seen any more tourists, either taking a rest or going to eat. I rarely see so few people at a certain scenic spot. The beach at low tide is lonely and silent. Occasionally, local children run across the beach, like primary school students after school. I follow their footsteps and look into the distance. As they disappeared on the other side of the long tail boat.
It is getting dark. The two hotels that served dinner started playing music, and tables and chairs were placed on the beach, or close to the beach. Perhaps it was a coincidence that during the two nights we were on the island, there were performances every time we ate. It was only when we were eating that the surroundings were lively. From the constant chatter, we could tell that most of them were Chinese. There are several beautifully decorated lamps, tables and chairs on the beach, specially prepared for tourists who have reserved seats, and they look like scenes in fairy tales.
When viewed from a distance, the lights are scattered along the short coastline, like stars falling in the night sky. The music has also become unstable, like when I was walking from home to the village to watch a movie. From a distance, the light and sound in front of me seemed to be in another space. When I got closer, the picture was clear and the sound was clear to my ears. It was fresh. Come alive.
Only the sea water has been silent, and no sound can be heard in the darkness.
There is no Internet in the house. I am sitting in the lobby of the hotel updating my itinerary information. There are tourists like me sitting there. Because of the Internet, it seems that people I know from all over the world are no longer there. There is a need for words between each other.
It was late at night, and the massage hotel staff had begun to finish their work for the day. It seemed quiet in the distance. When I walked back to the hotel, I thought about leaving here the day after tomorrow. Think about it and leave. I've been home for three days.
Phi Phi Island
Plan to watch the sunrise. But I still got up late. I opened the door and looked up, facing the bright sun. The surroundings are still very quiet, and the staff are already up, picking up some garbage on the beach, and opening the parasols and beach chairs belonging to their hotel. At least I am in a happy mood, because today we no longer have to worry about transferring and can have a whole day just here.
I am carrying a camera. But many times I let it go. Except for taking pictures of my daughter, I spend more time lying there instead of adjusting the shutter and selecting angles for that one hundredth of a second. It’s not that I have lost my passion for photography. It was only at this time that I slowly realized that perhaps this is the meaning of home travel. The leisure time I once longed for can be accurately interpreted here.
Phi Phi Island is quiet. It seemed to be wrapped in a ball of time, turned into a crystal ball and placed there. And we are inside the crystal ball, which changes color as the light changes. Any sound we heard became crisp and sweet because of the quietness of the island. For example, the sound of the tide, the sound of the motor of the long-tail boat, the greetings of the staff, and the sound of rain.
At one point I went back to the room to get something. As I was passing through a row of long-tail boats, someone greeted me and asked me if I could go out to sea. I could only regret that I missed it. The dream is as soft as the beach under my feet, and I don’t want to stay away.
There are attendants cleaning the rooms. That was probably an older Thai woman. Purple skirt, bare feet, she had a quiet and solemn air when she was working. I stood at the door, not daring to go in and disturb her. Until finally, she slowly raised her hands and lit an incense stick. The smoke is also still, slowly dissipating like time on the island.
Time spreads in the changing light, and the sky on Phi Phi Island is also dark.
In the evening, we chose a hotel affiliated with the hotel. Just on the beach, the Thai girl who picked up the boat yesterday no longer wore a purple dress but changed into neat clothes and was advertising business at the door. Later, she guest-hosted and went on stage to announce the show. Just like her identity, the people who danced and did Muay Thai later were the waiters in the store. As the night fell and the lights were dim, there were many local children crowded on the beach. Regardless of skin color or language, their expressions are exactly the same as ours. I don't know if there are very few performances here, or if they have a lot of unyielding enthusiasm for such a program every time. It's like a festival. They can't help but have fun and make a mess on the beach.
When I was walking back along the beach after dinner, the children were chasing and playing on the beach, and the stars in the sky fell on their running shadows. At that moment, I looked at the stars and suddenly discovered, Maybe my journey is too shallow, but in my eyes, at least at this moment, this is a paradise of happiness.
Return slowly.
