Shaanxi, called Shaanxi or Qin for short, is located in the hinterland of China and the middle reaches of the Yellow River, and it is the province with the largest number of neighboring provinces and cities in China. There are many tourist attractions in Shaanxi Province. The glorious periods of China in ancient times, such as Zhou, Qin, Han and Tang, left a rich cultural heritage for Shaanxi, and the natural scenery of the Loess Plateau and Bashan Mountain in Qinling Mountains was also intoxicating.

Shaanxi province is about 87 kilometers long from north to south and 2 to 5 kilometers wide from east to west, with a land area of 25,8 square kilometers, accounting for 2.1% of the national land area. The largest freshwater lake in the territory is Hongjiannao in Yulin, northern Shaanxi.

Shaanxi has developed transportation, with the fourth largest airport in China and flights reaching more than 6 large and medium-sized cities at home and abroad. The "Eurasian Continental Bridge" Longhai Railway runs through Xi 'an, the west extension railway runs from the ancient city of Xi 'an to the revolutionary holy land of Yan 'an, and the Xikang Railway runs directly through the Qinling Mountains. Xi 'an is also the second largest highway transportation hub in China after Beijing. There are 9 national highways radiating to all parts of the country, and the traffic is very convenient. There are also many choices of accommodation, from small family hotels to national chain stores, from ordinary star-rated hotels to five-star luxury hotels.

Shaanxi spans three climatic zones, and the climate between north and south is quite different. Southern Shaanxi has a tropical climate in North Asia, Guanzhong and most of northern Shaanxi have a warm temperate climate, and the north along the Great Wall has a temperate climate.

Shaanxi is rich in natural resources, rich in minerals and large in reserves. There are more than 5 kinds of proven minerals in the top ten in China, and the potential value of proven mineral reserves is 42.61 trillion yuan.

Shaanxi is one of the cradles of agriculture in China. Millet and rapeseed shells found in Banpo site proved that Banpo people had been engaged in agricultural production and planting vegetables at that time.
