How much cash do you usually bring when traveling to Japan?

Most regular stores in Japan accept credit cards, and most of them support UnionPay, so there is no need to use visa. Cash is mainly used for emergencies or to buy souvenirs at the entrance to tourist attractions, or to have a meal at a small restaurant. Generally, it is more than enough to prepare cash of 10,000 yen per person per day. For example, for a 7-day trip, 70,000 yen per person is enough. If two people are traveling together, it can be reduced, and it is enough to bring about 100,000. It doesn’t matter if you bring too much cash and you can’t use it all. If you don’t want to change it when you return to your country, just use it at the airport duty-free shop when you come back.
