What year was SARS?
SARS broke out in Shunde, Guangdong on November 16, 2002.
SARS was a global infectious disease epidemic that broke out in Guangdong, China in 2002 and spread to Southeast Asia and even the world. It was not until mid-2003 that the epidemic was gradually eliminated.
The most serious period of SARS: In May 2003, the epidemic in Beijing and Hong Kong was the most severe. In the summer of 2003, the number of infected patients decreased day by day, and the disease was completely controlled.
End date of SARS: On June 24, 2004, the World Health Organization (WHO) announced the lifting of the travel ban on Beijing, indicating that mainland China had won the battle against SARS.
On April 13, 2003, my country decided to include SARS in the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases and manage it as a notifiable infectious disease. On April 16, 2003, the World Health Organization officially announced that the causative agent of SARS was a new coronavirus and named it SARS virus.
Small measures to prevent diseases:
1. Wash hands frequently. Frequent hand washing is an important measure to prevent respiratory infectious diseases such as influenza. Encourage frequent hand washing, especially after coughing or sneezing, before eating, or after contact with contaminated environments.
2. Keep the environment clean and ventilated, and keep the home environment clean and well-ventilated. Clean the room frequently and keep windows open for a certain amount of time every day for ventilation.
3. The weather changes frequently. Pay attention to adding or removing clothes in a timely manner. In spring and summer, children's clothes should be added or removed appropriately and adjusted in time according to weather conditions. Also note that children may catch cold easily if they sweat more after exercise.
4. Try to reduce activities in crowded places. During the season of high incidence of respiratory infectious diseases, try to go to crowded public places as little as possible to reduce the chance of contact with sick people. Try to avoid contact with patients with respiratory infections and wear masks at all times.
5. Maintain good hygiene habits. When coughing or sneezing, cover your mouth and nose with tissues, towels, etc., wash your hands after coughing or sneezing, and try to avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth with your hands.
