Where to travel on May Day? When you’re in Beijing, it’s best not to go too far south. You only have 5 days of vacation, hahahaha
I came to Rizhao from Beijing for retirement. I suggest you come here to have a look. Peking University has a teaching and research base here.
The following is my original work, for reference only:
The most important thing when coming to Rizhao is to see the sea - Rizhao Coastal Scenic Area (along Bihai Road), starting from Lunan National Forest in the north Park (the fourth bathing beach), in order: Renjiatai to Wangjiazao and more than a dozen village-run bathing beaches and scenic spots, then the third bathing beach (managed by Wangjiazao Village), Shanhaitian Bathing Beach (Qiaojiadunzi Village Committee) Management), Yingxu Square (managed by North Miaojia Village), Yuyue Square (managed by Dongjiatan Village Committee), Wanpingkou Scenic Area (Second Bathing Beach, directly under the Tourism Bureau), World Sailing Base (directly under the Sports Bureau), Lighthouse For scenic spots (directly under the Tourism Bureau), three or four days is more suitable.
★Forest Park (Four Baths) - Take a direct bus from Guanhaiju to Forest Park (North Coastal Line), 3.5 yuan/person (free of charge if you buy Forest Park tickets on the bus) ), 15 minutes apart during peak season. The entrance fee to Forest Park is 40 yuan/person. It is our best (fourth) bathing beach in sunshine. The beach is flat, the water quality is excellent, and the sand is very fine! It is a very good attraction in summer. Professor Ding Zhaozhong (an American physicist and Nobel Prize winner whose ancestral home is Rizhao Lanshan District) praised the beaches here as more beautiful than those in Hawaii. You can spend a whole day playing there in the summer. But if you go during the season when you can’t swim (April, May, early June, October), you won’t be able to afford the entrance fee, so it’s more cost-effective to eat seafood instead, haha!
★Shanhaitian (Three Bathing Beaches) - Routes 8, 10, 16 and 33 are directly connected to the North Coast Sightseeing Line. Get off at the aquarium. The ticket price is 1 yuan/person. The bathing beaches are free and the beach is relatively flat. , there are many tourists in summer, and it is the best quality among the free beaches in Rizhao. There are no reefs and undercurrents, and swimming is very safe. The small hotel, which is like water and sand, is located in the third phase of the nearby Professor's Garden (it is also on the Rizhao scenic spot tourist route, "Looking into the Ecological Residential Area Professor's Garden"). The aquarium in Rizhao has been demolished and rebuilt this year. The nearby Qiaojiadunzi and Wangjiazao are both prestigious fishing resorts. It is within walking distance from Guanhaiju.
★Yingxu Square (Taigong Island) - a newly built square at the end of last year with beautiful lighting. It faces Taigong Island diagonally but is not suitable for swimming because there are many rocks. It is within walking distance from Guanhaiju.
★Yuyue Square (also called Sunshine Bathing Beach) - a newly built square at the end of last year, the night view is very good, there is also an observation tower (free), you can overlook the hundreds of miles of coastline, very suitable for lovers, I pour my heart out, haha. It is within walking distance from Guanhaiju.
★Wanpingkou Scenic Area (Second Bathing Beach) - Directly accessible from Guanhaiju by taking Route 33 and the North Coast Sightseeing Line, the ticket price is 1 yuan/person, the bathing beach is free, the sand is coarse, and the beach is steep. The draft is deep, the water quality is not good or children are not recommended to swim here. However, it is close to the city and the port and has the most complete land facilities. It is known as the "big living room of the people of Rizhao".
★Wanpingkou Tidal Tower-it can display tidal changes, which is very interesting. There is a so-called naval battle hall inside the tower. It is a fabricated attraction and is really lackluster (the ticket costs 35, a rip off!). But when you climb the tower and look far away, you will see the sea and the sky are the same color, and you will be open-minded and enjoy the joy of life!
★Water Games Base and Sun Plaza-reconstructed on the basis of the original 10,000-acre lagoon. The scale and landscape are unparalleled in China. The water sports that hosted the National Games in 2009 and 2010 are absolutely not to be missed. There are no tickets, but vehicles from other places need to pay a parking fee of 10 yuan (any entry is not allowed during the summer). The west gate of the water transportation base is the famous Sun City Musical Fountain Square, which is worth a visit! (ticket 10 yuan).
★Lighthouse Scenic Area - The design is novel and the night view is particularly brilliant. It can be called a Rizhao landmark! It has the largest reef beach in the north of the Yangtze River, and the waves crashing on the shore are spectacular.
★Haiqu East Road Cross-sea Bridge - the beautiful scenery of Wanpingkou at night! The world's sailing and windsurfing competition base, water transportation base, and lighthouse scenic area are all in full view, and the colors are gorgeous! Worth strongly recommending! No tickets, free, but you can't park for a long time, you can only pass at a low speed and take a look!
★Zhudongtian (Jiangshuaigou) Scenic Spot - It has been doing well in recent years. It is not far from the old urban area and can be reached directly by bus No. 15. The ticket is not expensive - 20 yuan. It is said that the price will increase this year. Northern tourists who have been exposed to sunshine for more than three days can go there to experience the largest bamboo sea in Jiangbei!
Other scenic spots are lackluster and not recommended.
As an extra reminder, try not to eat barbecue at the individual stalls on the seaside east of the coastal highway. It is quite dark, haha. If you are afraid of getting ripped off, eating somewhere 3 kilometers west of the seaside is generally not a big problem. Restaurants in university towns are affordable, but fewer are open during the peak summer season.
I wish you a happy trip to Rizhao Beach! ! !
