Zheshan Beauty Dam on the south bank of the Qiantang River in Nanyang, Xiaoshan and Yanguan Town in Haining City are the best scenic spots to watch the Qianjiang tide. The main thing to watch in Meiliba is the "turning tide". The "Beautiful Girl Turns Back Again" tide refers to the tide that is advancing rapidly and forms when it encounters artificial obstacles such as groynes and dams.
Zheshan Bay, located in Nanyang, Xiaoshan, on the south bank of the Qiantang River, is a large bay recessed to the south at the mouth of the Qiantang River. Here, there is a "T-shaped dam" about 500 meters long that goes straight into the middle of the river, like a giant arm that can turn the tide. When the incoming tide reaches this point, the entire line forms an acute angle with the embankment. The tide head within the dam head forms a right-angled triangle with the dam body and embankment. The two ends of the tide line are blocked and advance toward the right-angled vertex along the dam body and embankment respectively. , and finally roared with a "boom" at the root of the dam, and the waves rose suddenly like an awakening lion, turning into a water column, soaring straight into the sky, reaching a height of more than ten meters. Due to the dam's obstruction across the river, the upright tide turns back, forming a peculiar turning tide that "rolls up sand piles like snow piles". At this time, the river surged forward and backward, rolling up and down, and rushing endlessly.
The Zheshan Meimei Dam in Nanyang will not only produce a back tide, but also a "sky-high tide" phenomenon. This is a special tide that occurs at the intersection of the embankment and the dam. It is the most attractive of the close-up tides. The tide is like being caught in a net. At the corner where the dams intersect, the tide makes a loud crash and the tide reaches the sky. A water column rises up, two or three meters low, and up to more than ten meters high. A poem written by Ji Cong of the Qing Dynasty in "湣歌" states: "The tide from Mount Zhe is coming from the sky, defending the east seawall and destroying the rocks." This is how the tide soaring to the sky got its name.
Cross Tide
There is a place called the Big Gap 55 kilometers away from Hangzhou Bay, which is an excellent place to watch the cross tide. Due to long-term sedimentation, a sandbar is formed in the river. The tidal wave from Hangzhou Bay is divided into two streams, namely the east tide and the south tide. After bypassing the sandbar, the two tides cross like two brothers. Embracing each other, they form a changeable and extremely spectacular cross tide, showing the spectacular scene of "thunders gathering on the sea surface and waterfalls crossing the middle of the river".
The moment the two tides collided, they stirred up a water column that was several feet high. The waves splashed, which was thrilling. By the time the water column fell back to the river surface, the two tides had already appeared on the river surface in a cross shape and were rapidly running westward. At the same time, the intersection quickly moved northward like an avalanche, hitting the straight seawall, causing a huge splash of water to fall on the top of the pond, scaring the tide watchers to scream and avoid it.
First line tide
After seeing the cross tide in the big gap, it is recommended that you drive to Yanguan as soon as possible and wait to watch the first line tide. Before seeing the shadow of the tide, I first heard the sound of the tide. There was a loud rumbling sound in my ears, but the river was still calm. The sound grew louder and louder, like thousands of war drums beating, deafening. In the distance, a white line appears on the foggy river surface, quickly moving westward, like "a white rainbow rising over the long flat sand across the river." Even closer, the white line turns into a wall of water, gradually rising, "I want to know how high the tide is, crossing the mountain in the waves." As a white wall moved forward rapidly, the surge came to our eyes, with the momentum of thousands of horses galloping and the force of thunder, which was unstoppable.
The first line of tide is not unique to Yanguan. Wherever the river is straight and there is no Shazhou, the tide heads are all in line, but they are not as beautiful as Yanguan. The reason is that not far after the Yanguan position and the width of the river channel sharply shrink upstream, the two southeastern tides merge and form a straight line. The tidal energy is concentrated and the tide head is extremely high, usually 1-2 meters, and sometimes up to 3 meters or more. It is majestic and the tide view is spectacular.
The turning tide
The tide going upstream from Yanguan will reach the next tide-watching spot, Laoyan Cang. The geographical environment of the old Yancang is different from that of Yanguan. The river in Yanguan is straight and the tidal wave advances westward without any obstruction. However, in order to protect the seawall, a 660-meter-long dam was built on the river of the old Yancang. At Heding Dam, the roaring tide will be reflected back when it encounters an obstacle. There it will violently hit the opposite dam, and then roll back with the force of Mount Tai and fall on the westward rapids, forming a row of "snowy mountains" that are as fast as lightning. The earth rushes back to the east with a sound like a lion's roar, shaking the earth and the earth. This is the back tide. During the day, it has the majestic momentum of the day, and at night, it has the poetic and picturesque mood of the night; watching the tide is a kind of fun, and listening to the tide is a kind of reverie.
Midnight Tide
At midnight, there was a faint sound of "rustling" on the river. The tide was rising, and a line of black pigment was floating on the misty water, intermittently, sometimes disappearing. now. After a while, the sound became louder, and the tide came flying with thunderous roars, turning the moonlight all over the river into pieces of silver. The tide was like thousands of gray-maned horses jostling, tearing, spraying beads and spitting. Rushing straight to the bottom of the pond, it was like a hundred thousand troops approaching the city. The front wave of the swell leads to the back wave, and the back wave pushes the front wave, forming a stack of towering tidal peaks on the river surface. The waves reach the sky, as if rushing towards the bright moon in the sky. The best place to watch the midnight tide with the sound of hundreds of thousands of troops is in the Tianfeng Haitao Pavilion area, which is a scene of "watching the moon in Tianfeng". Its romantic and unique atmosphere attracts a large number of tide-watching tourists. Su Dongpo, a poet of the Northern Song Dynasty, also wrote a poem about this: "I know that the Jade Rabbit is very round, and it has already weathered the frost and wind in the cold September; I sent a message to the heavy door, leave the key, and leave it to watch the night tide in the moonlight." To express his feelings.
Qiantang Tide Poetry
The Southern Song Dynasty court once wrote in "Jiuquanzi" by the Northern Song Dynasty poet Pan Lang:
I have long remembered watching the tide, and the Manguo people fought for the river. see. The vast sea of ??doubts has become empty, amid the sound of thousands of drums. The tide boy stands facing the waves, holding the red flag in his hand without getting wet. Don't come here and look into the dream, the dream will still make you feel chilly.
Su Shi's "Viewing the Waves of Zhejiang"
The tides on August 18 are unparalleled in the world. Kunpeng's water strikes three thousand miles away, and his team trains to drive hundreds of thousands of men. The red flag and the green cover illuminate each other, and the black sand and white waves swallow each other up. It is difficult to meet in ancient times in life, and we will get this feeling, this scene, and both. May you add candles after hearing this, and the white robe outside the door will look like a standing swan.
Liu Yuxi's "Lang Tao Sha": In August, the waves roared to the ground, and the head was several feet high and touched the mountain. After a while, he entered the sea gate, rolling up piles of sand like snowdrifts.
Bai Juyi's "Tide": The early tide falls and the late tide comes, flowing sixty times a month.
