Lushan Donglin Temple Travel Guide and Things to Note
Tolin Temple is an ancient temple with a long history of more than 1,600 years. It is located at the western foot of Mount Lushan. It is a Buddhist resort full of spirituality and characteristics. Now it attracts a large number of tourists from all over the world every day. Below is a detailed guide and notes on Tolingi.
Guidelines for visiting Donglin Temple in Lushan Mountain
Tuolin Temple is located in Jiujiang City. Compared with some temples, it is already a relatively remote area. In fact, Tuolin Temple has a history of more than a thousand years.
The reason why it is called "Tolingi" is because it has a brother named "Selingi". Therefore, to differentiate the two temples, it got the name Tolingi.
It is reported that Tolingi has a traditional custom. It is said that a temple was built, and there is a saying here that "you can't eat or drink." Whether it’s tickets, food, worship or accommodation, it’s all free.
Few temples can do this. Of course, there are certain conditions, such as not wasting food, burning incense and chanting Buddha's name every day, getting up at 4 a.m. to chant Buddha's name (morning prayers), etc.
In fact, the scenery and culture of Tolingi are very good. Every day I see many monks sweeping the floor and chanting Buddha's name. They are not those who pretend to be fair-weather monks.

Notes on Donglin Temple
Although Tuolingji is free to eat, drink and live, there is a rule here that is difficult for women to accept.
It is said that young couples are not allowed to come here. Not only that, it is also clearly stipulated here that women who come here are not allowed to be naked, nor are they allowed to wear fancy clothes. Even shorts, long skirts and short skirts are prohibited.
In other words, this rule makes many female tourists ungrateful. Once seen by the administrator, they will be asked to leave the temple.
In fact, the purpose of these regulations is to prevent monks and pilgrims from outside interference. Not only that, such children will be disfigured in front of the Buddha.
