1. Mount Wutai

Mount Wutai, located in Xinzhou City, Shanxi Province, is one of the four famous Buddhist mountains in China. In 2004, Mount Wutai was rated as one of the top ten famous mountains in China. In June 2009, Mount Wutai was listed as a World Cultural Heritage. In 2007, it was rated as a national AAAAA tourist attraction.

2. Pingyao Ancient City

Pingyao Ancient City is located on Kangning Road, Pingyao County, Jinzhong City, Shanxi Province. It is located in the central part of Shanxi Province. It was built in the period of King Xuan of the Western Zhou Dynasty (827 BC - BC 782), the city was rebuilt and expanded in the third year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty (1370). It is the most complete ancient county town in China. The entire city looks like a turtle crawling south, so it is known as the "Turtle City".

3. Yungang Grottoes

Yungang Grottoes, formerly known as Lingyan Temple and Shifo Temple. It is located at the southern foot of Wuzhou Mountain in the western suburbs of Datong City, Shanxi Province, and on the north bank of Wuzhou Sichuan River. The highest point of Wuzhou Mountain is called Yungang, hence the name Yungang Grottoes. The rulers of the Northern Wei Dynasty advocated Buddhism and built temples and caves extensively. The main parts of this grotto group were completed before the Northern Wei Dynasty moved its capital to Luoyang, from about the first year of Heping to the eighteenth year of Taihe (460-494).

The grottoes are dug into the mountains and stretch for 1 kilometer from east to west. The cave area is divided into three areas: east, middle and west according to the natural mountain topography from east to west. There are 45 main caves and 209 subsidiary caves, with a carving area of ??more than 18,000 square meters. The highest statue is 17 meters and the smallest is 2 centimeters. There are more than 1,100 Buddhist niches and more than 59,000 large and small statues.

4. Hukou Waterfall

Hukou Waterfall is a national scenic spot and a national AAAAA tourist attraction. It borders Hukou Town in Ji County, Linfen City, Shanxi Province to the east and Hukou Town, Yichuan County, Yan'an City, Shaanxi Province to the west. It is the only tourist attraction in the two provinces. It is 350 kilometers away from Xi'an, Shaanxi Province in the south and 387 kilometers away from Taiyuan, Shanxi Province in the north.

Hukou Waterfall is the second largest waterfall in China and the largest yellow waterfall in the world. The Yellow River flows here, with steep stone walls on both sides, and the mouth of the river is as narrow as the mouth of a Hukou, hence the name Hukou Waterfall.

The water surface of the Yellow River upstream of the waterfall is 300 meters wide. In a distance of less than 500 meters, it is compressed to a width of 20-30 meters. The river water of 1,000 cubic meters per second pours down from the cliff more than 20 meters high, forming the style of "a thousand miles of Yellow River harvests in one pot".

5. Yanmen Pass

Yanmen Pass is located in the Yanmen Mountains about 20 kilometers north of Dai County, Xinzhou City, Shanxi Province, China. It is an important pass on the Great Wall and is known for its "dangerous" , known as "China's first pass", there is a saying that "there are nine fortresses in the world, Yanmen is the leader". Together with Ningwuguan and Pianguan, it is called the "Three Outer Passes".
