Tarutao, Shatun Prefecture-an island in the National Park, located in Malaya Peninsula, is the southernmost part of Thailand, with the Andaman Sea in the west and the nearest place to Wye City in Songkhla Province in the east, only over 20 kilometers. Except for some scattered mountains, the rest are plains. Coconut trees are always planted on the roadside of Sha Dunfu.

Tarutao Island National Marine Park consists of a group of offshore islands. The main island is only five kilometers away from Langkawi, Malaysia, and ferries depart from the two islands every day. Another big island, Koh Phetra, is also the national marine park in Thailand today.
