On National Day this year, I took my wife and children to Aba Ruoergai and Hongyuan, which I have been thinking about for half a year. I went to the plateau to see the grassland in my heart, and to see the long-lost blue sky and stars and bright moon.

It only takes half a day to drive from Chengdu to the ancient city of Songpan.

The first day, Chengdu - Songpan. Chuanzhu Temple

Songpan is located on the eastern edge of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, in the northeast of the Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture. It is the center of the golden tourist route in western Sichuan. It has nationally famous scenic spots such as Huanglong, Muni Valley, and Songpan Ancient City.

On the way to Songpan, passing through Maoxian County, you can see the beautiful Diexi Haizi.

When the weather is fine, Haizi, distant mountains and white clouds complement each other, creating a landscape picture of a plateau rising from a flat lake.

Diexi Haizi is a barrier lake after the earthquake. Its deepest point reaches 98 meters, the average depth is 82 meters, the water storage capacity reaches 150 million cubic meters, and the lake surface area is more than 3.5 million square meters.

Stay overnight at Chuanzhu Temple on the first night. It happened to be the Mid-Autumn Festival, and the moon was exceptionally bright at night.

Start from Chuanzhu Temple and walk all the way. Crossing the ridge of Galitai Prairie, the altitude is 3,600 meters. In the morning, when the clouds have not dispersed, it feels like walking in the clouds, like a fairyland.

Continuing forward after passing Galitai, you can see the snow on the top of the mountain from a distance.

Ruoergai Flower Lake is located next to the 213 National Highway between Ruoergai and Gansu Langmusi. There are three adjacent lakes on the Reer Dam. The smallest one is called Cuoergan and the largest one is called Cuoreha. Huahu is the middle one.

After visiting Huahu Lake the next day, we stayed overnight in Zoige, breathing the thin and fresh air of the plateau, and letting our souls cleanse in nature.

After resting comfortably, we drove to Hongyuan. Pass by Tangke Town and see the first bay of the Yellow River.

The first bay of the Nine-Meander Yellow River winds to the horizon. The ever-flowing Yellow River gave birth to the long-standing Chinese civilization. It flows from the source of the Sanjiang River through Tangke Town, Zoige County, Aba, bringing lush aquatic plants and magnificent scenery.

The scenery here is more rugged than the aura of the Jiangnan landscape, and a bit more simple than the beauty of the Lingnan landscape. It's like Zhang Fei's embroidery, thick and fine, clever and bold, blending together and complementing each other.

On the way out from Tangke Town, I met devout pilgrims who "kowtowed their heads". Their faith was so firm that it made people feel sad. Admire and move people. Their spiritual world should be far richer than ours.

On the way to Hongyuan, we often encounter groups of yaks, either walking or eating. This time, I saw a herd of yaks bathing and drinking in the river. I really don’t know if they are afraid of the cold.

When we passed by a grassland house, we stopped to ride horses. I took my children and walked deep into the grassland. This is a real ecological grassland, full of vitality everywhere. It is truly a mountain of gold and silver, as well as green water and lush mountains.

We had only known each other for less than an hour, and we had already exchanged WeChat messages and made plans to go camping and horse riding again next year. When you arrive in Hongyuan, how can you not go to Moon Bay to watch the sunset?

The sunset at Moon Bay in Hongyuan is nowhere else. Incomparable, the mountains and winding rivers are so sparkling that they look like an oil painting, so thick that they can't be melted away.

We caught up with the best weather since the entire National Day holiday, and of course it was also the best day to watch the sunset.

The night in Hongyuan is very quiet, with a bright moon in the sky and stars dotted there. On the plateau, is the moon bigger and rounder because it is closer to the sky?

In such a plateau, let your mood fly. My thoughts have traveled eighty-four thousand miles, reaching up to the nine heavens to embrace the moon, raising my hands to pick up the stars, allowing my dancing and flying soul to be purified once again.

On the third day, we stayed overnight in Hongyuan. We went to the Hongyuan vegetable market early to find a shop that sells yak meat. We agreed with the boss to buy pure plateau grass-fed yak meat the next morning.

The fourth day, Hongyuan-Chengdu

Life is endless. Yesterday, the yak that was still jumping around happily and contentedly has become a yak on an iron hook today. Fresh beef. Don't doubt its purpose of life or death, because it has long been integrated into the ecological cycle of nature, and everyone is a link in the cycle, interlocking with each other.

What is the difference between you and me? We can only be grateful to nature and life, so that we can live a valuable and wonderful life.

On the way home, we passed by Moon Bay where the gorgeous sunset was yesterday. After a night's rest, it glowed with new vitality and welcomed another bloom.

Looking back on this four-day trip to western Sichuan, I stayed away from the hustle and bustle of the city and walked on the plateau closer to the sky, integrating with the sky and the scenery, letting my thoughts fly, purifying my soul, and comprehending life.

Everywhere you feel at ease is your hometown. How long ago, what we have been pursuing so hard is right in front of our eyes. Dependencies arise and perish. What we grasp is your happiness.
