Zhoukou City is a city in Henan Province. Zhoukou City is located in the eastern plain of Henan Province, in the southeast of Henan Province, between 33 3'-34 2' north latitude and 114 5'-115 39' east longitude. The city is 135 kilometers wide from north to south and 14 kilometers long from east to west. Zhoukou City is adjacent to Fuyang City, Anhui Province in the east, Luohe City and Xuchang City in the west, Zhumadian City in the south and Kaifeng City and Shangqiu City in the north.

Zhoukou belongs to the Huaihe River Basin, with four major water systems: Shaying River (commonly known as Shahe River), Guohe River, Xifei River and Hongru River. Shaying River Basin covers an area of 8,838 square kilometers, accounting for 76% of the total area. Its main tributaries are Jia Luhe, Fenquan River, Heihe River, New Canal and Xincai River.
