Introduction:

Gongtan Ancient Town is located at the intersection of Apeng River and Wujiang River in Youyang. At that time, most of the residents in the town were named Gong, hence the name Gongtan. Due to the construction of water conservancy projects, the original ancient town was demolished and restored. After reconstruction, the ancient town still retains its unique fire sealing wall, quaint and quiet courtyards and many stilted buildings. Most of the residents are local aborigines.

There is a stone street about three miles long in the ancient town, which connects the old buildings in the entire ancient town. On both sides of the street are antique wooden hanging towers with high cliffs. This main street also connects almost all the scenic spots in the ancient town: Ran Family Courtyard, Xiqin Guild Hall, Chuanzhu Temple and Dong Family Ancestral Hall.

The Ran Family Courtyard is a must-see attraction when visiting the ancient town. It was once the residence of Ran Shenzhi, the chieftain during the Qing Dynasty. The courtyard is not large, but it contains the most complete woodcut window grilles and other cultural relics in the town. The entrance fee is 10 yuan. .

There is a famous bridge in the town - "Chongqiao Bridge". In fact, this bridge is a small arch bridge made of two overlapping bridges. There are only a few steps to walk from the lower bridge to the upper bridge. Stepping up the stone stairs, the two bridges are well-proportioned and have graceful arcs. This kind of "bridge upon bridge" bridge is rarely seen in other places.

The ancient town is not big, and you can explore it in two or three hours just by wandering around. When you are tired of shopping, you can go to the old street. Many delicacies of the ancient town are concentrated here. You can eat the delicacies of the ancient town such as mushroom balls, stir-fried mountain fern with old wax meat, pig's trotters and radish, cold tofu, and bean curd. There are also many inns in the ancient town. If you like the leisurely atmosphere of the ancient town, you might as well stay for two days. It is also a good choice.
