Jiuzhaigou is a world natural heritage, a national key scenic spot, a national 5A-level tourist attraction, a national nature reserve, a national geological park and a network of world biosphere reserves. It is the first nature reserve in China with the main purpose of protecting natural scenery.

Jiuzhaigou is located in Jiuzhaigou County, Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. It is located in the transition zone from Qinghai-Tibet Plateau to Sichuan Basin. It is a ravine with a depth of more than 50 kilometers, with a total area of 64,297 hectares and a forest coverage rate of over 80%. Nine Tibetan villages, including Shuzheng Stockaded Village, Ye He Village and Zechawa Village, are located in this mountain and lake group.

Jiuzhaigou National Nature Reserve mainly protects rare animals such as giant pandas and golden monkeys and their natural ecological environment. There are 74 species of rare plants under state protection, 8 species of animals under state protection/kloc-0, rich in paleontological fossils and ancient glacial landforms. The magical Jiuzhai village is known as "fairy tale world" and "king of waterscape".
