Where does Nanjing Tao Xingzhi Memorial Hall belong?
At the foot of Laoshan Mountain in the northern suburb of Nanjing, there is a once famous land-Xiaozhuang. At the end of the 1920s, Mr. Tao Xingzhi, a famous educator in China, went to the countryside and founded a new experimental rural normal school-Xiaozhuang Normal School. At the same time, according to the theory of "life education" he founded, he made a bold educational innovation and started a great "Xiaozhuang experiment" that attracted worldwide attention. However, only three years later, Xiaozhuang Normal School was unreasonably closed by the Kuomintang authorities. Tao Xingzhi was obsessed with Xiaozhuang, and always wanted to restore Xiaozhuang normal school and continue Xiaozhuang's experiment until his death. People buried Tao Xingzhi here and let him rest in his beloved Xiaozhuang land. 1August, 982, Tao Xingzhi's tomb was listed as a provincial cultural relics protection unit.
1993, Jiangsu Province and Nanjing Municipal Government allocated more than 700,000 yuan to build a new museum of Tao Xingzhi Memorial Hall on the former site of Plough Palace (formerly Xiaozhuang Normal Auditorium). Modeled after the "Plough Palace", it has a big roof, thick cornices and a thick roof ridge. The gatehouse is a circular tower with a long row of lattice wooden windows on the front, which is both simple and dignified. The whole museum covers an area of 800 square meters and the gatehouse is 25 meters high. Above the gate are two inscribed copper plaques and the inscribed Tao Xingzhi Memorial Hall. There is a bronze statue of Tao Xingzhi in the foyer, with "The Great People's Educator Mr. Tao Xingzhi" inscribed by Mao Zedong in gold letters 13 as the background. There are three exhibition halls, a lecture hall, a reception room, a reference room and an office.
Mr. Tao Xingzhi (189 1 ~ 1946) is a great people's educator, a great democracy fighter, a * * * fighter and a great patriot. He devoted his life to national liberation, social progress and educational innovation, and made immortal contributions to the country and the people. He explored hard and persevered in establishing people's education. In the latter ten years, he unswervingly supported the line of China's * * * production party, devoted himself to the national democratic revolution, and became "a non-party Bolshevik who followed the party without reservation" (in Zhou Enlai). His educational thought has been highly affirmed by educators at home and abroad, and it still has positive significance.
The exhibition hall of the memorial hall is divided into eight parts: (1) adolescence (1891~1917); (2) Advocating the period of educational reform (1918 ~1925); (3) rural education period (1926 ~1930); (4) the period of universal education (193 1 year ~1935); (5) The period from national disaster education to wartime education (1936 ~1938); (6) Comprehensive education period (1939 ~1945); (7) democratic education period (1945 ~1946); (8) To commemorate and learn from Tao Xingzhi.
Each part shows a large number of physical objects and historical pictures, including more than 380 photos of Zhang Zhengui and more than 250 pieces of Tao Xingzhi's posthumous works, relics and manuscripts, which fully and vividly reflect Mr. Tao Xingzhi's great and glorious life.
The tall memorial building is integrated with Tao Xingzhi's tomb and Xiaozhuang Martyrs Monument, becoming a "Xingzhi Garden" covering an area of 30 mu. 1994,-The general secretary personally wrote the three characters "Xingzhi Garden", which was engraved on the granite stone wall at the gate of the garden. There is also a "Xingzhi Garden" monument on the main road of the park. There are lawns, ponds and pavilions in the park. There is also a Xiaozhuang Martyrs Monument, the pedestal of which is engraved with the photos and biographical sketches of the martyrs, so that generations will always remember the heroic deeds of the martyrs. "Xingzhi Garden" has become one of the moral education bases for teenagers, which integrates visiting, appreciating, sightseeing and leisure.
Tao Xingzhi Memorial Hall was built in 195 1 Xiaozhuang Normal School. After the Cultural Revolution, the memorial hall resumed its exhibition. From 65438 to 0985, the Nanjing Municipal Government allocated funds to expand the museum, and the exhibition contents were also enriched and redesigned. The name of the museum was inscribed by Comrade Lu himself. On September 10 of the same year, the first Teachers' Day was officially opened to the public, with an endless stream of visitors, which had a certain impact at home and abroad. 1993, at the suggestion of former State Councilor Zhang Jinfu and China Tao Xingzhi Research Association, the memorial hall was rebuilt.
Tao Xingzhi Memorial Hall collects more than 65,438+0,000 pieces of various cultural relics, including a sweater given to Tao Xingzhi by Zhou Enlai in the 1940s, clothes worn by Tao Xingzhi and used wallets, pens, inkstones and paper fans. On the day of Tao Xingzhi's death, the famous painter Xu made a face model and hand model (only one set left) on the spot, leaving a realistic image of Tao Xingzhi's face and hand model at his deathbed for future generations. In addition, Tao Xingzhi's passport, doctor's card and doctor's suit for studying abroad, the tiger painting presented by He Xiangning, the clothes and pocket watches presented by General Feng Yuxiang, and a large number of manuscripts, books, periodicals and works of students in Yucai School are all precious. In particular, Tao Xingzhi himself kept more than 700 original photos, with clear images and extensive contents. Among them, the photo of Tao Xingzhi with the Chongqing airport and the photo of Tao Xingzhi in front of Marx's tomb have always been treasured at the bottom of Tao Xingzhi's own box, fully expressing Mr. Wang's incomparable reverence for Marx and other great men. Another example is the photos of Tao Xingzhi during his study in the United States and the photos of Xiaozhuang, which are also extremely valuable materials for studying Tao Xingzhi.
For a long time, the museum has not only received researchers and foreign scholars from all over the country and provided them with information, but also actively participated in organizing academic research activities about Mr. Tao Xingzhi. As early as 1980, the Collected Works of Tao Xingzhi edited by Tao Museum was published by Jiangsu People's Publishing House, which became the first collected works of Tao Xingzhi published after the founding of the People's Republic of China. It is welcomed by people from all walks of life, and it is still in short supply after repeated editions. Guan Tao has also edited and published many books, such as Tao Xingzhi and Xiaozhuang Normal School, The First Elective Course of Jiangsu Secondary Normal School-Research on Tao Xingzhi's Educational Thought. 1996 On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Tao Xingzhi's death, Tao Museum participated in editing and publishing a large-scale picture album "Tao Xingzhi", which is by far the richest and most complete picture album of Tao Xingzhi in China.
