Where is Shapotou Scenic Area?

Shapotou Scenic Area is located on the southeastern edge of the Tengger Desert, 20 kilometers west of Zhongwei County, Ningxia, and is close to the Yellow River. It is a stunning scenery integrating sand and water. The scenery is spectacular, with surging rivers, steep sand mountains, white clouds and blue sky, and sand sea oasis. Due to its outstanding achievements in desert control, it was awarded the honorary title of "Global Environmental Protection 500" by the United Nations and was rated as one of the first batch of 5A-level scenic spots by the National Tourism Administration.
