What are the oldest temples in China?

The oldest temple in China is the White Horse Temple in Luoyang, Henan. It was founded in the 11th year of Yongping in the Eastern Han Dynasty (AD 68). It has a history of more than 1,900 years. It is the first ancient temple in China and a Buddhist temple. It was the first temple built in mainland my country.

The White Horse Temple in Luoyang, Henan Province is located 12 kilometers east of the old city of Luoyang, Henan Province. It is the world-famous Jialan and is known as the "ancestral court" and "source of Buddhism" in China. In the seventh year of Yongping in the Eastern Han Dynasty (AD 64), Emperor Ming Liu Zhuang of the Han Dynasty sent envoys to the western regions to pray for Buddhist dharma because of his dream of a golden man at night. In 67 AD, the Han envoys and two eminent Indian monks, Kasyapa Mateng and Zhu Falan, arrived in Luo on white horses carrying Buddhist scriptures and Buddha statues. Emperor Ming of the Han Dynasty personally welcomed them. In 68 AD, Emperor Ming of the Han Dynasty ordered the construction of a monastery outside Yongmen in Luoyang. In order to remember the merits of the white horse carrying scriptures, the monastery was named Baima Temple.
