Where is Huanggang Mountain?

Huanggang Mountain in Qianshan County, Jiangxi Province is located at the core of the Wuyi Mountains. It is a national nature reserve with an altitude of 2,158 meters. It is known as the "highest peak in the southeastern part of the mainland". Not long after Huanggang Mountain was opened to tourism, several of us made a field trip and it was eye-opening.

The Wuyi Mountains are bounded by the north-south direction of water flow, dividing Fujian and Jiangxi provinces. Huanggang Mountain, as the main peak of Wuyi, is located just between Fujian and Jiangxi provinces. For a long time in the past, Huanggang Mountain was classified as a military restricted area. In addition, the state carefully protects the native areas of Wuyi Mountain's flora and fauna. The virgin forests here are lush and green, and the prospects for tourism development are unlimited.

All the way into the mountains, the streams are clear and the ponds are blue, and wild peaches can be seen everywhere.

There are 400 hectares of original hemlocks, as well as countless rare flora and fauna under national key protection. Winding along a gravel road, you can actually see wild boars jumping out of the woods from time to time and running wildly on the road. I heard from the guide that it is winter now and wild boars often come out to look for food. There are still many rare wild animals such as clouded leopards, black muntjacs, yellow-bellied pheasants, and monkeys in the mountains, as well as rare insects such as golden-spotted swallowtail butterflies and pull beetles. . Tourists must be careful when entering the mountain and not be greedy for the beautiful scenery and act alone.

We looked down out of the car window, and the Wuyi Grand Canyon, a well-known crustal fault layer at home and abroad, was right below us. Although Wuyi Mountain is located in the subtropical monsoon zone, due to the high terrain, the plants in the area are obviously distributed in vertical strips. The foot of the mountain is a low-mountain bamboo forest area; the mountainside is covered with layers of Central Asian mountain primeval forests; and the top of the mountain is too cold and fresh. There are trees, but the cold autumn and winter have reduced it to a wilderness of withered grass.

At the ridge is Tongmuguan, the famous pass of the Fujian-Jiangxi Post Road in the past. In the old days, merchants from Jiangxi and Fujian provinces used this post road to transport materials from the two provinces. Located in the gorge of two mountains, the dangerous Xiongguan Road is known as "looking to the southeast and the throat of Jiangxi and Fujian". It has been a battleground for military strategists for thousands of years. Before the end of the Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China, the imperial court stationed heavy troops to guard the area and collected customs duties and salt donations.

When you climb to the top of the mountain, the mountains are "stepped" under your feet, and thick fog rolls in. The surrounding peaks are scattered in the sea of ??clouds and mist, like isolated islands in the vast sea. For a moment, there are soaring clouds and fog. Sense (see picture above). The scenery is breathtaking. I heard that this scenery is not unique in Wuyi. If you get up early and climb the mountain to watch the sunrise, a red sun slowly rises from the clouds and mist, contrasting with the surrounding angry sea and cloud waves. It is a spectacle and can be called the best in the world. The guide also said that we came at the wrong time. If the sky is clear and the sky is clear, we can climb the mountain and have a distant view. From a high place, we can see the wind and clouds in the Taiwan Strait.
