Communication issues. Chengdu locals like to communicate in dialect, that is, Chengdu dialect, so it is a bit difficult for people who have just arrived in Chengdu to communicate with the locals. But it’s not a major problem, because Mandarin is now more popular. If the locals see that you don’t speak Chengdu dialect, they will take the initiative to speak Mandarin to you. And as long as the locals don’t speak too fast, we can all understand Chengdu dialect.

Dietary issues. Many people come to Chengdu just to experience Chengdu’s snacks and various delicacies. But Chengdu’s food is generally spicy, and people who don’t like spicy food may not be able to accept it.

Chengdu is relatively humid. Perhaps because of this, Chengdu’s various delicacies are spicy, because chilies can eliminate moisture from the body. People who have just arrived in Chengdu may experience discomfort on their body and skin, but it may get better after a while, so don’t worry too much.
