When traveling to the United States for the second time, should I fill out the DS160 form or the DS156 form?

The second time I traveled to the United States, I filled out the DS-160 form. Every time I apply for a new visa, I must fill in the DS-160 electronic form again. You can just modify it on the basis of the original form. It will be very troublesome.

Steps to fill in the DS-160 form:

Step 1: Select the place where the application form will be submitted - that is, which consulate you will go to for the interview. When a consulate is selected, a link to a test photo will appear. You can upload your own photos first to test whether they meet the photo requirements of the DS-160 form.

Step 2: After selecting the consulate location and uploading the electronic photo, you can select the "application method". There may be two situations here:

1) If you are using DS-156 for the first time, please click "Startanewapplication" (start a new application);

2) If you have used it before Application, such as an unfinished application form that was saved after half of it was filled out last time, or if you want to revise a previously filled DS-160 form, then you should select "UploadaPreviouslySavedApplication" (upload a previously retained application).

Step 3: Fill in personal information 1, including: name, full Chinese name, previous name, gender, marital status, date of birth and place). This page is a page for filling in basic personal information. Please note when filling in:

1) All the information filled in must be the same as that on your passport, so when filling in this column, you should put your passport next to it and follow the instructions on the passport. Fill in the information item by item;

2) The third item: "FullNameinNativeAlphabet", which means "fill in your full name in your native language". For Chinese students, it is Chinese to fill in the name. The full name - this is the only place in the form that is filled in Chinese;

3) For the "former name" item, if there is a former name, select "yes", and then it will A box will appear allowing you to add the names and full names of other names. If not, select "NO". Then dip into the following columns and continue filling in.

Step 4: Fill in personal information 2 including: nationality and ID number, U.S. Social Security number, and U.S. taxpayer identification number. It should be noted that for those who are applying for a visa for the first time, the "U.S. Social Security Number and U.S. Taxpayer Identification Number" are not available yet, so you only need to fill in your nationality and ID number.

< p>For other options that are not available, just tick the box in front of "DoesNotApply".

Step 5: Fill in the address and phone number (home address, mailing address, contact number, email, etc.)

Note 1: Fill in the person’s “mailing address” and “home address” Are they consistent? If they are consistent, you can choose YES, and you don’t need to fill in the mailing address; if they are inconsistent, you have to choose NO, and you have to fill in the "mailing address" again. This is very important, because this "mailing address" "Address" is important information that the consulate will use to send the visa and passport to the person who fills it in after the visa is obtained.

Note 2: When filling in the first part of the home address, please keep the information filled in by the person filling in the same as that on the passport. If the person filling in the permanent residence address is not the address on the passport, then you need to fill in the "mailing address" .

Note 3: When filling in the "telephone contact information", be sure to fill in your mobile phone number, because no one can guarantee that you will be by the landline all the time. If you don't have a valid mobile phone number, how about the visa office? Able to maintain timely contact with the person filling in the form.

Step 6: Personal passport information - passport number, issuing agency, etc.

It should be noted that the "validity period" of the passport should be at least greater than 6 months. If you are not sure about the "Passport Number", you can ask the passport issuing agency and they will tell the person who filled it out. In addition, you need to fill in "Have you ever lost or stolen your passport?" If so, select "YES" to make a backup, and fill in the previous passport number and place of issuance and other information. This simply makes a backup. Please fill it out truthfully, as filling in this item will not affect whether your visa will be issued.

After the above steps are completed, the online filling of DS-160 is completed. After completing the filling, you can print the "Confirmation Page".

Finally, one thing that needs to be reminded is: click "Save" every time you complete a step to save the uploaded information in time!
