Characteristic products of Chengyuan Township

Chengyuan township has high mountains and dense forests, and there are many special products. The total area of Chengyuan Township is 407,000 mu, including 340,000 mu of woodland, and the forest coverage rate is 84%. Houshan and Chixi Forest Farm, located at the junction of Fujian and Zhejiang, have more than 80,000 mu of forest, including thousands of mu of virgin forest, which is called "green treasure house". Chengyuan Township is rich in bamboo shoots, tea, millet cones, mushrooms and taro.

Tea is the pillar industry and traditional industry in this township, and it is one of the main ways to increase farmers' income. In recent years, the township party Committee has attached great importance to it. By increasing financial support, technical information support and attracting foreign investment, the development pace of tea industry has obviously accelerated. The existing tea garden area in the township is 1.8 million mu, of which the exploitable area is 1.5 million mu and the newly planted area is 0.3 million mu. The tea planting varieties include Fuan Dabai, Fuyun No.6, Zhenghe Dabai Tea, Taicha 12, Fuyun 595, Tieguanyin and other excellent varieties. The tea planting area ranks first in the county, accounting for about 25% of the total tea area in the county, with an annual output of 30,000 tons and an output value of 23 million yuan. The township produces 4,000 tons of Baihao Yinzhen annually, with an output value of 9.5 million yuan, pearl tea 1.7 million tons, output value of 6.5 million yuan, green tea of 80,000 tons, output value of 4 million yuan, and special tea 1.7 million tons, with an output value of 3 million yuan. Tea production and cultivation have affected more than 90% farmers in this township. There are 0/6 tea processing enterprises/kloc-and 2 tea refining factories, among which Yunshou Tea Factory in this township successfully registered the trademark of "Jinping Xianyan" in the State Administration for Industry and Commerce in 2003 (this variety won the title of "Five-Star Tea King" in the "China-Japan-Korea Tea King TV Competition" in 2005 and was rated as a well-known trademark in northern Fujian). By the end of 2005, the demonstration base of oolong tea in Chengyuan Township covers an area of 500 mu, including 320 mu of Taicha 12, Tieguanyin of Red Heart 120 mu and Huangguanyin of 60 mu. The base is a high-standard tea garden for trial planting, demonstration, popularization and scientific research of new tea varieties in Chengyuan Township.

Located in Jian 'ou City, Chengyuan Township is the only Castanea henryi belt in China. Castanea henryi is a big ball, which has nourishing, medicated and health-care effects. At present, the area of Castanea henryi in the township is 1.4 million mu.

Chengyuan Township is rich in bamboo shoots, covering an area of 20,000 mu. Due to the long growth period and hard material of bamboo, the bamboo tableware, bamboo floor and bamboo mat produced are exported at home and abroad. The produced winter bamboo shoots are yellow in skin and white in meat, delicious in taste, and the dried bamboo shoots produced are neat strips, yellow and white, which are memorable to eat.

Chengyuan Township also produces mushroom taro with unique taste. Only farmers in Chengyuan, Zhenqian and Yangyuan in the mountainous areas of northern Fujian planted it. There are many reservoirs in Chengyuan, producing cold-water fish with long growth period and delicious taste, including natural silver carp and shrimp.
