In the history of our country, there are two Guazhou, North and South. Where are they today?
For example, Lu You once wrote that "the night snow in the building, the autumn wind scattered in the iron horse"; However, Cen Can of the Tang Dynasty wrote: "Your Wanli messenger heard that he had arrived in Guazhou."
Although both poems refer to "Guazhou", they do not refer to the same place. Although the pronunciation is the same, the writing is different. One is Guazhou and the other is Guazhou.
Guazhou and Guazhou
There is only one fundamental difference between Guazhou and Guazhou, but one is in the south and the other is in the north, which is thousands of miles away from Qianshan.
What's the difference between them? Where do they mean?
I. Guazhou Gudu
The first Guazhou is in the south, located on the north bank of the Yangtze River, and belongs to Yangzhou City, Jiangsu Province.
The geographical location of Guazhou
The "Zhou" in Guazhou has gained three points on the side. As can be seen from the literal meaning, it is related to water and was once an important ferry in ancient times.
The so-called ferry refers to the waterway traffic arteries connecting the two sides of the river. From the map, Guazhou Gudu is located on the bank of the Yangtze River, adjacent to Yangzhou in the north, Zhenjiang in the south and dozens of kilometers away from Nanjing, the ancient capital of the Six Dynasties in the west. Because Yangzhou, Zhenjiang and Nanjing were all very important cities in ancient times, Guazhou Ferry naturally became the main throat connecting the north and south of the great river.
In addition, Guazhou Ferry is also located at the intersection of the Sui Grand Canal and the Yangtze River. Due to ancient water transportation, the trade between north and south ships must also pass through here.
As a result, Guazhou Ferry has become an ancient land and water transportation hub connecting the north and the south, and its status is self-evident.
Guazhou ferry
Due to the special geographical location, there are many literati passing through Guazhou, leaving a famous piece that has been sung for ages.
Bai Juyi, a poet in the Tang Dynasty, once wrote: "Bianshui, Surabaya, flows to Guazhou ancient ferry, and Wu Shan is a little sad." This is about a young woman in the boudoir, expressing her thoughts about her husband's long trip by the continuous river next to Guazhou.
In the Northern Song Dynasty, Wang Anshi wrote: "Guazhou in the mouth of Beijing is separated by a water, and Zhongshan is only separated by several mountains", describing his return to Nanjing from Kaifeng, crossing Guazhou Ferry and eager to return home.
Zhang Ji, a poet in the Song Dynasty, once wrote: "Heroes hate, ancient and modern tears, and water flows eastward. There are only fishing rods and bright moons in Guazhou. " Expressed the sigh and helplessness of the changes of the world and the ethereal life.
