Most tourists who come to Changbai Mountain for the first time prefer to enter the mountainous area on the north slope, because the tourism development on the north slope is earlier and the tourism facilities are relatively perfect. There are trains or buses from Dunhua, Jilin and Yanji to Erdaobaihe Town, the nearest town on the north slope. The transportation is very convenient, and it is cheaper to stay and eat in Erdaobaihe Town than in the mountains.

From Changchun, you can go to Erdaobaihe Town near Changbai Mountain. There are two schemes: one is to take a bus from Changchun Yellow River Passenger Station to Erdaobaihe Town, with an estimated time of 5 hours; 2. Take the bus from Changchun High-speed Railway to Dunhua, and then to Erdaobaihe Town. The whole journey is expected to take more than 4 hours. I live in Erdaobaihe Town, 30 kilometers north and 80 kilometers west. It's more affordable to eat and live.

You can visit the northern and western slopes of Changbai Mountain (the opening time of the southern slope is uncertain at present). There is a preferential ticket policy in Changbai Mountain this year. One ticket can visit the scenic spots for 3 days, and you can visit the scenic spots on the west slope and the north slope any number of times in 3 days. You need to buy tickets separately every time. You can stay in Erdaobaihe Town for 3 nights. The itinerary can be planned to visit the north slope and the west slope for one day. There are tourist buses (stopped in winter), carpooling or chartered cars from Erdaohe Town to the north and west slopes.

Journey to the North Slope:

Take an eco-car on the north slope and change to an off-road vehicle to the top of the mountain. There is basically no need to climb mountains. After going down the mountain, you can visit other scenic spots on the north slope: Changbai Waterfall, Primitive Forest and Xiaotianchi.

Journey to the west slope:

Take the eco-car to the mountain platform, then walk up the mountain plank road for about 40 minutes to Tianchi.
