Putian travel guide
general situation
Putian is located in the coastal area of Fujian. There are more than 250 scenic spots and cultural relics in the city, and there are 24 famous scenic spots in Putian. In addition, Putian is also the center of Mazu in the world, with cultural heritages such as Mazu, Puxian Opera, South Shaolin Temple and Sanqing Hall, and it is one of the "historical and cultural cities" in Fujian Province. In addition, Jiuli Lake, Mulan Slope in Gu Yan, Sanqing Hall of Xuanmiao Temple and South Shaolin Temple are all famous scenic spots and tourist attractions in Fujian Province.
Putian traffic
1. Aviation: There is no airport in Putian. The nearest large airport is Fuzhou Airport, which is about 100 km. Xiamen airport is a little farther than Fuzhou airport, and it takes more than 2 hours by car.
2. Putian has high-speed railway station and railways. It's convenient to take the high-speed rail. It takes only 30 minutes from Fuzhou South Railway Station to Putian, and about 1 hour from Xiamen to Putian.
Recommended scenic spots
Meizhou Island
Meizhou Island in Putian is the hometown of Mazu. As a sea god, Mazu has many followers in the coastal areas of China and Southeast Asian countries. From high-speed railway station, Putian, you can take a bus directly to Wenjia Wharf, and then take a boat to the island. The boat leaves every hour, and it takes about 15 minutes to reach Meizhou Island. Meizhou Island is about ten kilometers north and south, which is neither big nor small. There are buses, battery cars (there are taxis on the island) or bicycles on the island. There are four or five major scenic spots here, the most important of which is Mazu Tempel, which is not far from the pier. It only takes about 10 minutes to walk.
Buses on the island can reach all the main attractions. If you are not in a hurry, I suggest renting a bike to ride slowly. Although many places by the sea are not scenic spots, the scenery is also beautiful.
South Shaolin Temple
Putian South Shaolin Temple is 0/7km away from the urban area/kloc-. South Shaolin Temple, formerly known as Linquanyuan, was founded in the first year of Yongding in the Southern and Northern Dynasties (557). During the reign of Emperor Taizong Zhenguan, monks from Shaolin Temple in Songshan went south, traveled thousands of miles to Jiulian Mountain, and lived in Linquanyuan. Linquan was renamed Linshan Shaolin Temple.
Arriving at South Shaolin Temple early in the morning, there are not many tourists. Compared with its fame, the scale of this temple is too small, and it took me ten minutes to visit it. There are also some legends in this temple. In the early Tang Dynasty, Shaolin Temple helped Li Shimin conquer the world and allowed many Shaolin temples to be established in the south. So there is more than one South Shaolin Temple in history, and there are at least three South Shaolin Temple in Fujian alone. Besides Putian, there are Quanzhou and Fuqing. In the Qing Dynasty, because the South Shaolin Temple was related to the restoration of the Qing Dynasty, the court ordered the destruction of the South Shaolin Temple, leaving only ruins. The present temple was also rebuilt later.
Hiroshi Fujiwara (male name)
Nanshan Guanghua Temple, located in Putian City, was founded in the second year of Chen Yongding in the Southern Dynasties (AD 558) and has a long history of nearly 1500 years. Although it is in the urban area, it is surrounded by high-rise buildings. I feel very calm and relaxed when I walk into the temple. Entering the mountain gate are several tall longan trees. Longan is one of the four famous fruits in Putian. The temple is open for free, with few tourists, more like a local park. There are lush trees here, and there is a hill behind the temple, where birds and flowers are fragrant. What they saw and heard was simple and quiet, and the monks were light-footed, unhurried and undisturbed by the outside world. This temple has a very high status, and it is also known as the four jungles in Fujian with Gushan Temple in Fuzhou, Nanputuo Temple in Xiamen and Kaiyuan Temple in Quanzhou.
Putian gourmet
Putian is known as Xinghua House in history, so some place names and delicacies are related to Xinghua. Xinghua rice noodles, a specialty of Putian, can be cooked and fried. Xinghua rice noodles are as white as snow and as delicate as silk. Fried rice noodles also like to be seasoned with various selenium.
Braised tofu is one of the most familiar specialties of Putian people. Eat at home every year or at major events. It seems simple, but there are many ingredients. Except tofu, minced meat, seafood, vegetables and so on. It also adds seasoning, which is very strong.
