Li Antang Town belongs to Qingpu District.

Li Antang Town is located in the southwest of Shanghai, belonging to Qingpu District of Shanghai, with the center at east longitude 12 10 1' and north latitude 3 108'. It is bordered by Xinbang Town in Songjiang District in the southeast, shihudang town in Songjiang District in the east, across the Maohe River from Shanghai Sun Island Tourist Resort in the northeast, Zhujiajiao Town in the north, jinze town in the northwest, Dingzha Town in Jiashan County, Zhejiang Province in the west and Fengjing Town in Jinshan District in the south. Located at the junction of Shanghai and Zhejiang.

Li Antang is a Dianmao lowland, a lake and marsh plain developed on the basis of the ancient Taihu Lake in the old Yangtze River Delta, with a land-forming history of about 7,000 years. Li Antang is dotted with rivers and lakes, which is one of the most concentrated areas of low-lying land and lakes in Shanghai. Cultivated land is divided into 387 independent weitou by rivers and lakes. The terrain is high in the west and low in the east. However, due to the reclamation of the embankment, it fluctuated slightly.

Historical evolution:

1949, 8 districts in the county, 1 city and 6 1 township, belonging to the joint office of 1 township. There are three townships and one town: Waidang, Nanmao, Beimao and liantang town. The villages under its jurisdiction, Zhonglian and Wang Jiacun are all part of Li Antang Town.

1957, the county has three towns and 18 townships. Some villages in Dang Wei Township merged with Nanmao Township and Beimao Township, and the original organizational system of Li Antang Town remained unchanged.

1958, the county was established 17 People's Commune, and Li Antang Town merged with Maodang Township to form Li Antang People's Commune.
