Legend of Shilaoren Tourist Garden

On the south side of the cliff facing the sea at the foot of Wushan Mountain, there is a stone pillar 17 meters high from the shore, which looks like an old man sitting in the blue waves and is called the "stone old man". The old man put his chin in his hand and was absorbed. Every morning, he greets the rising sun and sends a sunset glow. With the ebb and flow of the tide, he has gone through many vicissitudes, and I don't know how many years have passed. This masterpiece of natural sculpture has become an important symbol of Shilaoren National Tourist Resort and a famous tourist attraction in Qingdao.

Shilaoren is a typical sea pillar landscape on the bedrock coast of China. Millions of years of wind and wave erosion and impact caused the bedrock coast at the foot of Wushan to collapse and retreat, and it was ground into fine sand and deposited in the gentle Dajiangkou Bay. Only the solid stone pillar of the stone old man is left, which is the shape of today. Looking from the northwest, this strange stone in the sea looks very much like an old man, lifelike, and the beautiful and moving legend about this strange stone has attracted many tourists to watch it.

According to legend, the old man Shi was a hardworking and kind fisherman, who lived at the foot of Wushan and lived with his smart and beautiful daughter. Unexpectedly, one day, my daughter was robbed into the Dragon Palace by the Dragon Prince. The poor old man called by the sea day and night, eager to see, regardless of the sea, his temples were all white and his waist hunched, and he was still waiting for him by the sea. Later, when the old man sat in the water and leaned against his chin, the Dragon King used magic to turn the old man's body into a stone. When the girl learned the news of her father, she was in great pain. She rushed out of the Dragon Palace and ran to her father who had turned to stone. The flowers she planted on her head were blown to the island by the sea breeze to take root and sprout, so that Nagato Rock and Daguan Island were full of wild winter-resistant flowers. When the girl approached Laoshan Mountain, the Dragon King used magic to turn the girl into a huge reef and put it on the sea alone. Since then, father and daughter can only face each other across the sea, and they can never be together. Later, people called this huge reef "Daughter Island".

The world has its own true feelings, and the filial piety of the stone old man's father and daughter has aroused the sympathy and sigh of tourists. The sea dragon king, no longer powerful and evil, has become a world-famous sea paradise in the past. If a stone man has a heart, he should relax and face a bright future again.
