Two-day tour of Mount Wutai

Route guidance:

Day 1: There is a bus from Taiyuan East Long-distance Bus Station to Mount Wutai. It runs every 30 minutes. The fare is 43 yuan and the journey takes about 3 hours. (Long-distance buses are private. If there are few passengers, the bus owner will cancel the trip. This happens especially in the afternoon.) After arriving in Taihuai Town, you can first go to Luohou Temple at the foot of Beishan Mountain, and then visit the Tong Temple, Pagoda Temple and Bodhisattva Peak. Go down and then turn back along the original path and enter the east gate of Tayuan Temple. After visiting Tayuan Temple, go east out of the south gate and visit the Pavilion of Ten Thousand Buddhas. You can stay at the guest house in Taihuai Town at night.

Day 2: Take a day-trip minibus from Taihuai Town in the morning and visit Nanshan Temple, Longquan Temple, Puhua Temple and Shuxiang Temple. You can also choose to go to Dongtai Wanghaifeng to watch the sunrise early in the morning, and then visit Bishan Temple. Return to Taihuai Town for a short rest at noon, and walk about 5 kilometers south in the afternoon to Zhenhai Temple, Puhua Temple, and Nanshan Temple (the stone carvings of Youguo Temple in the temple are very famous and are unique in Mount Wutai). Finally, take a bus from Taihuai Town back to Taiyuan.

Tips: 1. Friends who go to Dongtai to watch the sunrise should wear thick clothes.

2. The wise Manjusri Bodhisattva is enshrined on the east platform. You can eat vegetarian food in Dongtai.

3. There are 108 steps in Longquan Temple. Climbing up can eliminate 108 kinds of worries. Never look back in the middle, otherwise it will not be effective.

Day 1: Walking from Hongmen Rock to Dongtai to Hongmen Rock to Beitai to Zhongtai to West Platform takes 10 hours

6: 30 climbing, 2 hours up and down the east platform is enough, you can cut straight up from the lawn, the wind is relatively strong. On the top of Dongtai Wanghai Peak is the Wanghai Temple, which houses the wise Manjusri.

It takes 2 and a half hours from Hongmenyan to the North China Rooftop. You can take a small road up from Hongmenyan, with an asphalt road + small road in the middle. It is recommended to take small roads when there is no fog and visibility is good to avoid going in the wrong direction.

It takes 1 hour from the North China Rooftop to the North Peak. Mainly roads, choose small roads appropriately.

Arrive at the top of North Platform at noon and rest for lunch. Beitai is the highest among the five peaks. There is Lingying Temple built on the top of the mountain, which enshrines Wugou Manjusri.

13:30 From North Taipei to Zhongtai, it takes 2 hours and passes through the bathing pool. There are also small roads along the way.

When you reach the top of Zhongtai, you can see the Amajiao Temple, which enshrines Manjusri.

It takes one and a half hours from Central Taiwan to West Taiwan, and you can arrive at West Taiwan before 6 o'clock. There is a Fa Lei Temple on the west platform dedicated to the lion Manjusri.

Overnight stay at West Terrace.

The next day: Xitai---Nantai, it takes 6-10 hours to walk

The distance from Xitai to Nantai is longer. If you take a small road, you can get there in 7 hours. But you must know the route when taking a small road. It often happens that you go wrong or get lost on this road. Remember: when taking a side road, you must make sure you are not far away from the road and can walk onto the road at any time.

Passing Kichijoji Temple, Lion’s Nest, Golden Pavilion Temple, toll gate, and weather station. Nantai is divided into New Nantai and Ancient Nantai. Generally, you can go to New Nantai.

You can probably arrive in Nantai before 18:00. There is Puji Temple in Nantai, which enshrines the wisdom Manjusri.

Have dinner and stay in Nantai in the evening.

The third day: Nantai - Fomu Cave takes 2 hours to walk (you can also take a ride from Nantai to Fomu Cave)

It takes 2 hours from Nantai to Fomu Cave. If You can go to West Taiwan early the next day and if you have enough physical strength, you can go there the next day. Then you can take a bus back to Taihuai Town.

Tips:

1. If you want to watch the sunrise in Dongtai, you have to climb the mountain at about 3 o'clock in the middle of the night. You can choose to go to Dongtai before dark the day before and stay in Dongtai. To watch the sunrise, go to the North, Middle and West platforms on the 2nd day, and visit the South platform and the Buddha Mother on the 3rd day.

2. Plan your hiking route according to your own physical fitness.
