Luoxing Tower is an internationally recognized navigation beacon and the gateway symbol of the Minjiang River. Two hundred years ago, when foreign ships sailed out of Mawei, Fuzhou, they could see Luoxing Tower in the distance. Therefore, Luoxing Tower is also called the "Chinese Tower". At that time, letters mailed to Mawei from all over the world could be delivered by simply writing the world postal address "Pagoda Anchorage" in Luoxing Tower. Climb to the top of the tower and have a panoramic view of the port pier.
When checking in at Luoxing Tower, you must not miss the "Luoling Benchmark" sign. It is said that in order to prevent merchant ships from frequently hitting rocks and sinking, the Qing government invited German engineers to conduct systematic observations of the water level and flow of the lower reaches of the Min River, and determined the "Luoxing Tower Zero Level" as a fixed observation mark for the lowest water level in the Luoxing Tower section of the Min River. This was a modern observation mark. China's first international water level standard. In 1992, the Yellow Sea zero point was adopted nationwide and the Luoling zero point was discontinued.
