Where is Jincheng, Shanxi?
Jincheng City is located in the southeast of Shanxi Province and at the junction of Shanxi and Henan provinces. It has been a battleground for military strategists since ancient times. It is known as "Pinghan in Hedong, the throat of the Central Plains, and the gateway to the three Jins".
Jincheng is one of the birthplaces of Chinese culture, with human ruins such as Gaodu ruins and Tashui Hexiachuan. It is the birthplace of myths such as Nuwa mending the sky, Foolish Old Man moving mountains, Yu chiseling stone gates, and Shang Tang collecting rain. It is also the hometown of eminent monk Huiyuan, astronomer Liu Xisou, Kong Sanchuan, Guoguang, Chen Tingjing and other celebrities. The city currently has a total of 6,767 cultural relics, 66 of which are national key cultural protection units, including Yedidai Temple, Qinglian Temple, Chong Temple, Haihui Temple, Liu Family Houses, Xiangyu Castle and many other places of interest.
