Niuzhaping Village is located at the mouth of Xiling Gorge, on the south bank of the Yangtze River, with a land area of 1 1.26 square kilometers and a cultivated land area of 69.33 hectares. There are 4 villagers' groups, 480 households, permanent population 1765, and 880 laborers.

In 2004, the total rural economic income of the whole village was18,033,700 yuan, including agricultural income of 4,433,700 yuan, non-agricultural income of13,600,000 yuan and per capita net income of 2,820 yuan.

Niuzhaping Village is adjacent to Zhu Shijie Community, Tanjiahe Community, Wulong Community, Hongguanggang Machinery Factory Community, Zhangjiaba Community, Shang Tang Village, Bawangdian Village, Fanjiahu Village, Lijiahe Village and Ziyang Village.

Near Niuzhaping Village, there are Yichang Chexi Folk Tourist Area, Qinglong Gorge Drifting Tourist Area, Three Gorges Cuiming Valley, Yuan Yu School Family Museum, Moji and other tourist attractions.
