Hangzhou Tourism College
Zhejiang Tourism School, the predecessor of Zhejiang Tourism Vocational College, was founded in 1983. It is one of the earliest tourism secondary specialized schools in China, and it is affiliated to Zhejiang Tourism Bureau. It is one of the key tourism institutions funded by the National Tourism Administration during the Seventh Five-Year Plan and the Eighth Five-Year Plan. Over the past 20 years, more than 20,000 professionals have been trained for tourism enterprises and institutions inside and outside the province, and some graduates have taken up middle and senior management positions.
The new campus of the college covers an area of 24 1 mu, with a total construction area of 67,000 square meters and a total investment of 654.38+0.4 billion yuan. The beautiful environment of the new campus has greatly improved the conditions for running a school and provided a solid foundation for the further development of the college.
The college now has hotel management department, travel agency management department, cooking department, foreign languages department and basic department, and offers more than ten professions that are closely related to the industry and meet the social needs, such as hotel management, tour guide, cooking and catering management, practical English, scenic spot development and management, hotel electromechanical equipment management, human resource management, practical Japanese, practical Korean, computer information management, exhibition management and tourism financial accounting, among which the tour guide major in the travel agency management department is the earliest in the province. The college has more than 2 100 full-time students.
The college puts forward the school-running concept of "relying on industry and combining production with learning", follows the school-running law of "surviving by quality, promoting development by reform and occupying the market by characteristics", and strives to cultivate practical senior professional and technical talents and management talents with high ideological and moral level, good business philosophy and professional skills.
The orientation of the college: Zhejiang Tourism Higher Education Center, Tourism Research Center, Tourism Information Center, an important window for Zhejiang's foreign exchange, and a new highlight of tourism.
In order to realize the integration of tourism education with the international community, the College has established sister schools and partner schools with Kyung Yee University in Korea, Austrian Institute of International Tourism Management, Hunan University in Korea and Las Vegas College in the United States, and established long-term friendly cooperative relations with Lausanne Hotel Management College in Switzerland, Yisancang University in Thailand, Victoria University in Australia, Meris College in Canada and William Angelis College in Australia. The college exchanges international students with Hunan University in Korea and Mahidol University in Thailand.
The college attaches great importance to the construction of teaching staff, and proposes to cultivate a high-quality teaching staff that combines theory with practice, teaching with scientific research, and teaching with education. There are more than 60 faculty members/kloc-0, more than 50 teachers with middle and senior titles, and teachers with master's degree account for 20%. Among the full-time teachers are 1 national culinary masters and senior technicians, 3 examiners for star-rated hotels in Zhejiang Province, 5 examiners for on-site tour guide qualification examinations in Zhejiang Province, and 5 referees for skills competitions for young workers in the tourism industry in Zhejiang Province. In recent years, more than 60 teachers have visited Austria, Switzerland, France, Italy, Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong, Macao and other places, giving lectures and studying. A number of scientific research projects of the College are listed as the educational science planning projects of the Ministry of Education and the province. Among them, the teaching reform program of tourism service and management specialty is listed as the key funded project of the Vocational Education Department of the Ministry of Education, "Curriculum reform and textbook construction planning for vocational education in the 2 1 century".
In the fierce market competition, the college fully realized that without good quality, the college would have no future. The college pays attention to the cultivation of students' professional knowledge and skills while learning basic theoretical knowledge. Students majoring in hotel management are recommended to Beijing Great Wall Hotel, beijing tianlun Dynasty Hotel, Swiss Hotel Beijing Hong Kong and Macao Center, Beijing Kunlun Hotel, Guangdong International Hotel, Gloria Resort Sanya, Shanghai Xinya Tomson Hotel and other famous domestic five-star hotels. Students majoring in tour guides practice in well-known enterprises in Hang Cheng, such as Hangzhou Mansion Travel Agency, Zhejiang International Travel Agency Citizen Travel Company, Hangzhou Shanshui Travel Agency and Hangzhou Paradise Travel Agency. In 2002, Luo Shanshan, a sophomore majoring in tour guide in our college, won the second place in the first "Star of the Future" national tour guide competition. At the same time, there are many student associations in our college. The special bus "I see the new changes in Hang Cheng" has left the elegance of our college students. During the "Holiday Golden Tourism Week", volunteers from our college appeared in various scenic spots in Hang Cheng, and our art troupe was often active in various major activities organized by the Provincial Tourism Bureau, which not only publicized our college, but also laid a solid foundation for students' employment. In recent years, the one-time employment rate of college graduates is as high as 90%, and nearly half of the students are attracted by tourism enterprises in the province, so there is a hot scene in which employers compete for graduates, and some overseas tourism enterprises are also attracted by it. At the same time, the enrollment of the college in the past two years is equally gratifying.
