How to travel to Hong Kong

Mainland residents traveling to Hong Kong need a "Travel Permit to and from Hong Kong and Macao" and a Hong Kong endorsement. Among them, endorsements are divided into group travel endorsements and individual travel endorsements.

Mainland residents who apply individually for travel passes to Hong Kong and Macao need to be accepted by the exit and entry administration department of the public security bureau where their permanent residence is located; applications by military personnel to go to Hong Kong need to be accepted by the exit and entry administration department of the public security bureau where the military or work unit is stationed.

So far, residents of 34 cities across the country can travel to Hong Kong using their personal identities. The cities that have opened free travel to Hong Kong and Macao include: Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong Province (the whole province): Zhongshan, Jiangmen, Foshan, Dongguan, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Huizhou, Shaoguan, Heyuan, Zhanjiang, Yangjiang, Shanwei, Maoming, Jieyang, Shantou, Chaozhou, Qingyuan, Meizhou, Zhaoqing, Yunfu, Nanjing, Wuxi, Suzhou, Hangzhou, Ningbo, Taizhou, Fuzhou (urban area only), Quanzhou, Xiamen, Tianjin, Chongqing (limited to 17 districts and counties), Chengdu, Jinan and other cities.
